Entry level gaming card?

Niko, you already know how I feel about the 2600XT DDR3, 8600GT DDR3 and HD3650. I will say it again, HD3650 for the only soul reason for crossfirex with an HD3850 at a later date. 8800GS if no crossfire on a different motherboard at a later time.

That would work... But it would take a really hot clock on the 3650 to be worth anything really.

probably going to get flamed for this, but what about the old school x1950's? a pro could be had for 40-50$ off of amazon or fleabay. with lackluster dx10 performance on the 8600's, 2600's and 3600's it doesn't make sense to me to get one as an entry level card. The x1950 will be faster and allow your bro to game with higher details.

if you want dx10, 3850 or higher. if not, go with the x1950.

I still say HD3650, performs better than both 8600GT and 2600XT for not much more.

8600gts, mid-range, gaming card oc' like a bitch and not very much $ either if you look around
