EPIC today announced their first ever EPIC Mega Sale, which brings a pretty linear discount across the games catalogue the online store has available for purchase. The company announced it is slashing at least $10/£10/€10 from every game priced above $14.99/£13.99/€15.99. This includes preorders on their own page, which means you can pre-purchase one of those soon to be released Quantic Dream games on the cheap (Heavy Rain and Beyond: two Souls can be yours for €9.99 right now, for instance), and Close to the Sun for €19.99. So if you are looking for some Epic Games Store exclusives (such as Metro Exodus for €34.99), go on and run.

Until they fix their store/launcher I won't touch them again, got sick of having to download Fortnite every time I formatted Windows even though it was installed on a seperate drive. I do this with steam also and literally just point the installer to the drive with all my games on and it picks all the data up, not Epic though, they can keep their "exclusives" and deals, reeks of desperation in an attempt to go up against the industry leader when in fact their end product is far from anywhere near as functional or stable as Steam.

Its all because Epic Games are having poor sales.

Long live Steam!!!

;)

Incorrect, Metro Exodus made more sales on Epic launcher on day 1 than the other previous two Metro's on Steam combined according to an article I read last week, just google it, I am not looking it up for you.

Also, regardless of who you hate or love, there is no denying Steam sales have been lackluster last 3-4 years, compared to yester year shock deals... when they moved from the daily sales to one long sale, it also made the prices less shocking. You might not have noticed though it was quite gradual... but there used to be shock pricing and everyone would get hyped. So at least Epic might bring that back ;) Competition is everything in the free markets.

I have to admit some of these sales are decent. Epic is using that Fortnite money to make some of these games this cheap, no doubt about it.

I also like that EPic Games Store is convincing a lot of developers to provide free demos for everyone... this is one thing about PC gaming I miss dearly, +rep Gabe could have put more pressure on this industry for this as well, but got lazy.

Detroit Become Human, Beyond Two Souls, Heavy Rain, and several others announced today they will be launching demos so you can know 100% before you want to buy or not.

Well... They are bound to run out of money some time with all that strong arming they are doing. This is like another step to recoup the cost. Personally though for me - Im not interested. I have enough games on my steam account to last me years if not a decade till this shit blows over.

We have enough virtual game stores, no need for a poorly designed 324023842309th one.

Besides, we've got steam sales, g2a, gamivo, you name it.

The launcher is being improved and updated every month. Plus you can go see very plainly what their monthly improvements are upcoming.

Well thats all well and good but I dont want a work in progress quite frankly, I may look at Epic again at some point though I definitely don't have any plans to in the immediate future, I don't play Fortnite myself it was mainly for my son though he has it on the switch as well so it's not a major issue for me not having it but the issues I did have with it when I had it installed on my rig where enough for me to say no thank you, not right now in it's current state and I'm happy with that it had nothing to do with steam or any other launcher.

Finally found 4.99 reasons to wrap up Clem's story

I really hope the Final Season is good. The Walking Dead Seasons 1 and 2 are really very good. I thoroughly enjoyed them. It was sad to see Telltale Games shutting down a while back but I guess most people don't seem to want Point and Click Adventure Games.

people love telltale games, it had nothing to do with that. it had to do with them bloating there staff to close to 300 people for such a small marketshare, they did not need that many people, they needed to stay small, go slow and steady. a lot of blame also goes to mismanagement according to some former employees, i read quite a bit about it

I might grab the new Subnautica game even though it's still in early access, so that I can play it in a year or so when they finish it. $10 is a great price and I doubt it will reach that price without this deal for, well, maybe years.

Epic is just throwing money at this store. I hope it works out for them. And I also hope that they stop buying exclusives and instead focus on returning some of that margin they're not collecting to customers.

The truth is somewhere in between. And no one on YouTube or Google know.

I don't mind the extra 2 seconds it takes to open another launcher and start the game, as long as the developers and users are getting a better deal.

I went and availed myself of the three Quantum Dreams’ games. Don’t need to wait for reviews on the games themselves, their stories and gameplay are a known factor already. I figured it was better to get the dirt-cheap pre-order prices now.

Do they ever look at currency exchange rates, or just pick a number that sounds good to them and apply it to all?
