Some processing features are pre and some processing features are post, for example adding or removing channels is pre only (SFX), band equalizer is post only (MFX-EFX).
Normally EQ's go onto MFX under normal conditions, EFX can be used in a similar way, however each APO point has a specific way of working.
Use Original APO means that E-APO will add the existing APO (VSS?) to processing, so its E-APO > O-APO, then next step.
Try SFX/MFX with both pre and post. You may need to set the EQ to use post only.
----
The default for Microsoft and DCH devices is SFX-MFX, and if the driver supports it EFX, LFX-GFX are legacy.
Audio in > SFX > MFX |> EFX > Audio out.
----
EAPO site, Version 1.1.1:
Fixed: With some sound card drivers, unwanted sounds were heard when audio got silent (e.g. by pausing).
The modification of silent buffers, which seems to cause this issue, is now optionally available via the troubleshooting options in the Configurator.
