Some processing features are pre and some processing features are post, for example adding or removing channels is pre only (SFX), band equalizer is post only (MFX-EFX).
Normally EQ's go onto MFX under normal conditions, EFX can be used in a similar way, however each APO point has a specific way of working.

Use Original APO means that E-APO will add the existing APO (VSS?) to processing, so its E-APO > O-APO, then next step.

Try SFX/MFX with both pre and post. You may need to set the EQ to use post only.

----

The default for Microsoft and DCH devices is SFX-MFX, and if the driver supports it EFX, LFX-GFX are legacy.

Audio in > SFX > MFX |> EFX > Audio out.

----

EAPO site, Version 1.1.1:

Fixed: With some sound card drivers, unwanted sounds were heard when audio got silent (e.g. by pausing).
The modification of silent buffers, which seems to cause this issue, is now optionally available via the troubleshooting options in the Configurator.

Thanks, the SFX/MFX doesn't work properly , I need to disable Post-Mix to have normal sound but then HRIR doesn't do anything. so is it better to use SFX/EFX or LFX/GFX

I think also the SFX/EFX messing the sound terrible, it sounds worse compared to LFX/GFX, Dunno why, maybe because the post-mix allow me to enable the original APO only with LFX/GFX

Might be the device driver is LFG/GFX and not supporting anything else.

If you are using any of my driver packs and are using EAPO on SFX and SPDIF, you can alter the primary filter to an audio frequency max to suit yourself after testing.
Optionally, slightly lower than my default to 20,800 without testing yourself. This potentially reduces some loss with the encoder.

I have no idea what that means.

do you have any idea which one should I use for example Sound blaster X4? using SPDIF to Z8 eversolo DAC/amp. I can passthrough the 7.1 line out through the device so it output 7.1 and then I use HeusVi.
any simple test I can do to make sure it's working fine and not just by hearing or something ?

is it fine like this? I'm using . why is it red for me on the buttom and yours is not?

Too much gain (red), and the latency is high. Lots of weird if expressions also.

how do I fix this ? both of them

I installed the newest version now 1.4 and there is no latency?? how do I fix the peak gain?

I have no idea what I'm doing,, I am trying to change the amplification which default set to -30.0dB, but it doesn't change anything anywhere, not volume and not the peak value

No idea, I did not write HeusVi, looks shitty from here. Filters can add dB, and there are some 'Filter: On' lines that seem to specify dB but no obvious code.

@x7007, you can try deleting all text files, then use my Equalizer APO config (post 1), if you only want SPDIF multichannel from stereo.
I can also help you setup 7.1 a bit more if you want to, and even customize it a bit more to suit, I use RustDesk.

You are much better off immersing yourself in stereo surround, rather than generated pseudo surround (effects, delay, other).

E-APO v1.4 is available, if you have not updated recently. I also updated the default preset, change any values to suit your needs, simply follow post 1 to update.

yes I sent you pictures even before with ver 1.4 which is dark if you saw.

Also something weird now with 24H2, I am testing it for the moment

With Creative X4

If I keep Enabled Use Original APO the sound is 30% lower.
If I keep it Enabled there are distorted sound very very randomly like terrible crackling like something slashing with a sword, 4-7 times, usually happens when I use discord, could it be discord only? I never noticed it in game, but I just updated 24H2 just 2 days ago.

Still I am testing, I'm not sure Disabling the use Original APO will fix that, but it made the volume much much higher, is that good? or something not working correctly? it sounds better for me like something with creative is doing extra emulation or it doesn't actually use 7.1?

Because it can't be anything else / Hardware/Software, it could be only related to EAPO drivers, maybe it never worked perfectly before but now like this is he 100% correct way. it bogulles me to think what else could it be

I would suggest -2dB, input at full volume (~144dB), to go down to 142dB SFX, this allows for 2dB of additional MFX - EFX processing (+2dB).
-30% suggests Creative are doing similar, if 30% is accurate that's quite a bit, I guess the Creative APO is not so good?

dunno that's what it was on default. when I change the number it doesn't so anything to the sound or change the dB
