error message

Hi I got this error when I was trying to load windows essential into windows 10, error: 0x80070660 also it said source: crt110-i386. I have tried different registry cleaners but no luck, oh the windows 10 was a fresh install, I have not had this error before,any ideas before I format the drive again.

What exactly are you trying to install from windows essentials? If its the antivirus thing it is no longer needed in windows 10 and will not work.

If you want the other programs it comes with make sure you're downloading Windows Essentials 2012 version.

From what i see it does not come with Outlook express inless it comes under the mail thing?

I seem to have no issues installing the programs so i wonder if you need to update windows 10 or something like that.

It's Windows Live Mail (which doesn't work for M$ hotmail/outlook accounts anymore though..)

Yeh sorry it is windows live mail. I don't want to change as I have got used to it. I have it in my main desktop and there is no problems.

I dont about anyone else but I dont need an actual mail client, I use my browser. However if you plan on using it professionally like in a real office type setting, there are several options other than M$ Office bloatware, OpenOffice is free, there are others just use your google-fu.

Thunderbird stopped development, so I heard, now I guess its just basic maintenance to keep it working. I used to use it.

Yeah email files take up space when using mail programs.

Why not use the Windows 10 built-in mail client? It's pretty solid and compatible with various services and in my testing is very easy to use and loads fast. Why not try it?

I use Office 2016 at work more for diag/testing and calendar management than anything.

I use browsers for personal email, though I also use the W10 email client for testing as well. It works smooth, fast and is simple. Probably an appropriate replacement for Windows Live Mail in all honesty and I'm surprised nobody suggested the OP use it nor that the OP said he tried it. Give it a go!

Otherwise, if you want something more technical, go with Mozilla Thunderbird, it's pretty solid overall but more bulky to setup...but has more options, customization, etc.
