Eurocom Corporation, a leading developer of high performance Mobile Workstations and Mobile Servers is offering the EUROCOM Scorpius, a fully scalable, high performance computing laptop platform designed specifically for professional users and digital content creators.

Using durable ABS plastics and top quality manufacturing technology, the 17.3" Scorpius weighs just 3.5 kg (7.7 lbs) and is less than 50 mm (1.9 inches) when closed, an astonishing feat of engineering considering the level of power under the hood. Its strong chassis can take unintentional abuse while on the go while being used for heavy duty computing by engineers, professionals or hardcore gamers.

"The EUROCOM Scorpius and Scorpius 3D provide high performance computing capabilities in a hand carry, mobile form factor for deployment of professional grade computing on the go" Mark Bialic, Eurocom President.

The EUROCOM Scorpius is a highly scalable, high performance mobile computer form factor that can be configured to meet several distinct high performance levels. Scorpius can be customized for multiple roles such as a) Mobile Workstation when equipped with high performance NVIDIA Quadro K5000M; b) Gaming Super-Notebook with Dual VGA running NVIDIA GTX 680M or AMD HD7970M in SLI and/or CrossFireX c) Professional High Performance Graphics Workstation; d) CUDA Development with 2688 CUDA processors.

The EUROCOM Scorpius has a variety of configuration levels created from supporting four different 3rd generation Intel Core i7 processors up to Extreme Edition, dual graphics processor cards support with 9 cards to choose, from NVIDIA GeForce, AMD Radeon and professional level NVIDIA Quadro options.

"The Eurocom Scorpius redefines the gold standard for mobile CAD and 3D design. For heavy duty rendering where the utmost accuracy is required, ECC memory is supported by the NVIDIA Quadro K5000M graphics module. The supported NVIDIA Quadro cards offer OpenGL quad buffered stereo support, for a smooth experience working with complex 3D models." Mark Bialic, Eurocom President.

In terms of storage the EUROCOM Scorpius supports up to four storage devices, one being an mSATA drive, two being standard mobile storage bays and the fourth being co-shared with the optical drive, which can support the best in enterprise level solid state storage and RAID 0/1/5/10 capability.

The Scorpius has 4 memory slots ready for up to 32GB of dual channel DDR3 1600MHz 204 pin SODIMM. With such massive amounts of RAM available, the Scorpius becomes a flexible tool for virtualization and high performance computing.

The long list of configuration options allows customers to choose the exact price point that fits their budget, with no unneeded components adding to their price.

A 3D enabled system is also offered, the EUROCOM Scorpius 3D, with NVIDIA 3D vision 2 technology, a 120 hz panel, built in emitter and NVIDIA Graphics. This solution delivers highest quality and most advanced 3D environments, enabling designers, engineers, digital artists, animators, digital sculptors, and scientists to view and share their work in beautiful 3D. The EUROCOM Scorpius 3D workstation fit seamlessly into a 3D ecosystem complete with 3D scanners, 3D printers and 3D software applications.
