Everyone can run Crysis without a GPU

A few days ago Linus Tech Tips published a video of AMD Threadripper 3990X running Crysis without a GPU. That video made a lot of headlines on tech sites.

This however is no news. Almost every CPU from this decade is capable of running games in software renderer mode.


Above is a video of my very own 10-year-old Xeon running Crysis similarly like Linus.

Despite the non-sense, you'll need a GPU to run games on the highest quality, resolution, at decent FPS.

"Fail to SEE" (sic pun ) how any game runs without A GPU
you still need to see a screen to.....................

Oh wait there were a few Dos comand line games you could output to a Printer (ye old Dot matrix).

That Linus guy has 10.2 million subscribers, some might follow this bad tech tip :laugh: and actually believe that GPU is no longer required for gaming.

I think if they watch the video ,Linus himself saying it's not really useable just very nearly so, might do that.
