hmm. Would this really be worth it. I plan on adding RAM or so, but would this only be worth it if you SLI? I have a single 8800GTX, and don't plan on SLi any time soon, but if I do, is my 680i still great? Look at my rig tab and confirm if you could.

I'm waiting for some overclocking info first. It might be worth it if they have fixed the Quad-Core problems the 680i motherboards have. Also, 45nm quad-core support is nice and worth it if you are thinking of upgrading your processor in the future.

45nm quad-cores are the reason the 780i is out! (besides tri-sli) They absolutely support them!

I read somewhere the tri-SLi is absolutely piontless and only gives you like an extra 3FPS or some shit like that.

quad sli isn't ready yet, the damn things weren't designed to split the processing power into 3 units, only 2 and 4 (and even 4 doesn't work that well). Although it seems like a nice deal when the 45nm quad hits the market the current 65nm quad prices are going to fall like Bush's approval ratings, why spend the money on a new 45nm quad when you can get a compriable product for far less with the 65nm. Further, besides workstation programs such as CAD there are no games that support the quad processing.

But what irks me about this deal is that you have to send your board in first. Meaning shipping, processing, approval, proessing, shipping of new board which can take up to a month or more which means I'm out of a good computer for that long. I'd rather spend the premium and get it next day newegg and not have to wait, or better yet use this as an excuse to build a whole new rig. :toast:
