Yes, the 9800GTX+ should actually use a little less power than the 8800GTS 312MB.

Look at it like this:

Each 6-pin connector is rated for a maximum of 75w, and the PCI-E slot is rated to deliver another 75w. Depending on the version of the 9800GTX+, you might get one with two 6-pin power connectors, or one 6-pin. If you get a 9800GTX+ with two 6-pin, that card is going to use somewhere over 150w at peak, but below 225w. On top of this, the card will ever only pull 150w max from the PowerExpress power supply, as that is the maximum two 6-pin connectors are rated to provide, and that is all the PowerExpress power supply is connected to. The other 75w will be provided by the standard power supply through the motherboard.

That's system power usage, not just the card.

OH ffs yes :\

I got caught out (Honestly, I thought that was very high - But it was also very late)

WAs going to double check today - thought maybe it was an X2 (And even then that's a bit high)

no i'm running the single gpu core....my 8800gts run about 26amps the 9800gtx about 28amps.. i'm trying figure this power express runs 21amps per rail or all together thew box says 25amps at peak and 75% efficiency.. so hooking up both pci express connector the my power express should be enough power i think.. my main 450 watt single rail going to get it's already juiced out. with my x2 4800+ overclocked to 3.3ghz plus it only maxes out at 422watts.. full load i know i need other power supply my funds are low.... tell me what do you think about that?
