EVGA Corporation, or simply EVGA as it is known in the community, is the maker of various PC components and peripherals. As many of you are aware, EVGA has historically been focused on making products based on silicon coming from NVIDIA and Intel. The company has used NVIDIA products exclusively for its GPU portfolio and used Intel chipsets for its motherboard solutions. In the past, EVGA made motherboards for AMD processors, however, these boards used NVIDIA's chipset so they weren't technically full AMD motherboards. Starting today, that is about to change as we got some very juicy teasers from EVGA. In the nine-second video teaser on YouTube titled "A new Darkness is coming...", EVGA showcased a simple animation showing the AMD Ryzen logo surrounding EVGA's.

And of course, that only means one thing. EVGA will officially be joining the ecosystem of AMD and offering motherboards for their Ryzen processors. While the company is "one of the top NVIDIA authorized partners" in GPUs, on the CPU front it is officially joining Team Red and marking an important milestone for everyone. It is still not clear what kind of motherboard we will be getting, however, we can expect to see EVGA's best engineering applied in the form of a possible X570 Dark motherboard.

Below, you can see the video teaser.

I am looking forward to another maker in the ITX space if possible. Both Asus' and Gigabyte's offerings for X570 ITX have been pretty lackluster in my opinion.

Exciting news. EVGA makes good stuff, and while AMD has lots of good boards right now, there are still some niche markets that have gone ignored or underserved. The mini ITX market has been meh, and the x570 micro ATX market is made up entirely of the atrocious asrock pro 4 abomination and a wildly overpriced colorful board. Maybe one day we may see EVGA AMD GPUs? A man can dream.

Looking forward to it. Mentioning Dark means that it's X570 as EVGA uses Dark moniker only on high end chipsets. Likely the newer S variant that does away with active cooling on the chipset.
Also i speculate it will have 90 degree angled 24pin and 2x8pin EPS connectors side-by-side. I love that design.
2 memory slots most likely and dual-bios, dual-debug LED's plus other goodies.

Honestly i did not think my eyes would see this day but i guess EVGA is starting to feel the heat with majority CPU's sold now being AMD.

"FIRST EVER"

Uh, are we forgetting all their AMD nForce boards? Maybe change the title to "First time in over a decade" or something...

Edit a day later:

Since I'm going to get ridiculous replies from people who didn't see the original title to this article:
The title was changed. Thank you for fixing the title.

Just don't try to get support from them outside of the US, or get the "free" stuff they offer, as again it's only for the US, despite that I live not too far from their HQ and offered to go over there to collect it...

I would live a high-end mATX board, which doesn't even exist for AMD.

Yes, as I said, I live not too far from their HQ. I contacted the office here and they said no, for no particular reason.
Did you get the L-shaped adapter they offered for the GPU power connector? As it was a freebie they were giving away, but alas...
It wasn't much fun swapping out the thermal pads on my card either, but at least they sent those over, after a lot of back and forth, despite it being their fault.
Locally purchased and registered card.

Probably goes for most support anywhere. But ya EVGA typically does have better support than most. My buddy did have an old core 2 mobo from them. It died in about 5 years. Fingers crossed though. I thought SuperMicro was supposed to get into consumer market???

SuperMicro has been in the consumer market for a few years now, they just don't make very good consumer boards.

Ex colleagues review of one of their recent boards. Sorry, he's a bit dull, being British and all.

No i bought that myself but as it turned out it was not compatible with my card (not EVGA product). Still have it tho.
Never gotten any freebies.

I would be more exciting if Nvidia starting to make chipsets for RyZen again.

But then chipsets dont matter that much nowadays

I've always liked the evga motherboards. Hope they attack the AMD market from a different angle.

Gigabyte makes a pretty good mATX Aorus board, might be B550 but I think I saw it reviewed here. But yeah, I'm with you on mATX, it really is the sweet spot form factor.

EVGA getting on with AMD boards is pretty sweet news though. Unlike just about everyone else who releases a complete dud every now and then EVGA seems to be pretty consistently good and if not the best and I really appreciate their no-nonsense aesthetic.
