EVGA released a new Batman: Arkham City-themed GeForce GTX 580 graphics card. Carrying the model number 015-P3-1582-A1, this card carries NVIDIA clock speeds of 797/1594/4050 MHz (core/CUDA cores/memory effective). Apart from the game-themed cooler shroud sticker and a themed box, we can't really see what's new with this product. Perhaps it has a voucher for a copy of the game?

Based on the 40 nm GF100 graphics processor, GeForce GTX 580 is the single fastest GPU on the planet. It packs 512 CUDA cores, and 1536 MB of GDDR5 memory across a 384-bit wide memory bus. The GTX 580 also packs features Batman: Arkham City can benefit from, such as PhysX. Available on American retailer Newegg.com, the EVGA GTX 580 Batman: Arkham City Edition is priced at $529.99. At $30 over the base model GTX 580, it has got to pack a copy of the game.

Why 797mhz instead of 800 or why 1594 shaders and not 1600, I can't imagine it's running that close to the ragged edge where 3mhz and 6mhz will kill it. Nice round numbers in the next hundred group always make it look better.

Boring. It just has Batman sticker on it. You'd expect nothing less than a triple fan solution where fan blades are bat shaped.

Maybe the voltage is just enough for that, I mean 3mhz more and you get the "Nvidia display has recovered error"

it looks like noone is going to improve the current gtx 580. all we can do is wait for the gtx 680. a factory overclocked card is worth it only if you're too dumb to move a slider. only custom pcb deserves premium price imho.

The price is premium because batman comes with it guys.

Instead of 50usd ( I think that's typical price for games in the us) you're paying 30 usd.

Not bad.

Not bad if you're one of the 10-20 people in the world that are determined to buy GTX580 and Batman: Arkham City in the next couple of months. :banghead:

Well if you don't want the game, sell it BAM $20 dollars in your pocket if you manage to sell it close to full price.

My 570 SC has the same 797. Maybe EVGA have to pay more tax if they surpass the 800MHz barrier, Anyway, who on earth needs an overclocked GTX580 to play Batman?

"So then overclocked power consumption went up towards 439W, the heat levels remain to be roughly 70C in a game stress test. The noise level however jumped up a tiny bit to roughly 44/45 DBa."

your card is the worst 580 out there... you should at least refrain from giving people bad advice.

as for this card guys, its reminds me of this one...

just get the ECS for $200 cheaper than this from Egg. they were selling reference 580's for $300 something. :)

I've always though that companies like EVGA should sell the decals separately so that we could upgrade our video cards!

Like this one at $469.99+shipping?, It's $400 after rebate and code, not quite $200 cheaper. No game included either.
ECS NGTX580-1536PI-F GeForce GTX 580 (Fermi) 1536M...

I personally would much rather have the EVGA warranty. My experience with dealing with ECS support was atrocious.

There are 13 much less priced 580's on the egg bundled with Arkham, you're paying for a sticker.

it was going for $300-350 before. as for batman, many other companies give it away. it doesnt cost much and this card doesnt look shiny.

about EVGA... find yourself a new religion buddy. EVGA is shit. Shamino left for Asus and the toilet guys are having a lobotomy to design good hardware. their support blew too. i dealt with them a few months ago and they didnt give care. i was left a few weeks to get a response on my account.... for activation. EVGA only offers forum, phone support and late night supports. with the forum full of fanboy. there're other companies that do those.

there're much better choices to be had than this card. with a bunch of XFX reference 6970s and a likes
