All those nice looking shrouds yet they didn't even bother to cover up those unsightly yellow capacitors that stick out like a sore thumb :kookoo:

Anyone think it's kind of odd that an overclockong board has 8x SATAIII ports? It also has a SFF-8643/miniSAS port for U.2 I presume, is that popular in the XOC world?

EVGA Elite members only may apply first? Surely an exclusive club. For a $600 MB this late in the game to appear in the market is totally absurd. October or 90-days for the next mobo generation is right around the corner! But what do I know, I am just a man on the street and like 99.8% of most others will never own a $600 MB. But perhaps my own ship will come in one day and allowing me to upgrade my present and hobbled together 2008 Dell XPS PC.

"Military class" is such a freaking crock. The board is $600 designed for OC which 2 slots are the norm.

Its a marketing term that people haven't caught onto yet it seems....

Am I the only one who's not a fan of the design? It looks like it's been cobbled together from parts they had lying around, no synergy in the design. Reminds me of the old Asus Striker II Formula board

Oh man what?? I love the look. That old Asus board looks even cooler. Wish more boards looked like that. I want my motherboard to look like a piece of electronics, not some sleek spaceship. I keep waiting for someone to make a retro styled mobo, green pcb, massive exposed copper heatsinks. Looks badass to me

Its a marketing term that people haven't caught onto yet it seems....

The term has almost died of since the cold war ended, well at least officially. Indeed people do not really understand what they talk off. Now there is industrial and space grade only. Militaries are rare and often worse.

Albeit even using industrial parts would end up in a downgrade in such product as they trade off something for durability and lifespan, like capacity. We do not need product that survives a nuclear winter even for LN2 fun, do we need a product that withstands a 10-20G shock from a ballistic round? I guess not...

This is a supercar, it is intent for setting world records in a drag race, it ain't really meant for a mainstream consumer. For some people that idea doesn't get through their skull. It lake taking a Ferrari to Dakar rally.

The next thing... considering, that any part these days are unobtanium, even my personal projects have frozen, some STM32 orders are pushed to next year, the heck I cannot even get some simple PMIC's nor in EU or US.

It amazes me that we can get anything at all yet, military or not.

For such a premium board, its likely targeted at overclockers or those with Halo products like the 3090. Those owners are likely to water cool their card, considering the 3090 has rear mounted RAM, you won't be able to install an active backplate due to the tolerances with the VRM cooler.

why is there still a PS/2 port?
Because, newsflash, it's a board targeted at OC'ers. PS/2 is more stable.

It's hardly an expensive club, you have to buy literally two products of theirs in a year, and they can be anything at all, lol.

Depending on the bench being ran, you can also disable all USB on the board to get a little more stability from it too - Possibly more clocks as well due to the stability increase.

What many miss about OC'ing is it's a game of resources - The less you have doing something else, the more you have for the task at hand and in turn, better results.

That's why I still wish they would put PS2 ports on boards, they just work.
Plus, even if the USB controller dies you could still use it to order your replacement.

Plus ps/2 is actually better than usb for keyboards, being interrupt based and such.
