Evga's 8800GS is ugly lookin'?

Now it's finally in stock at Newegg, it looks like

Not that looks matter anything...after all...it will be facing down in your enclosure.

$135 after rebates (550 core)

$150 after rebates (650 core)

At least now people can have a choice in 8800GS. (No offense to XFX, but the Qimonda memory and the uncontrollable fan was pissing a lot of people off =P)

The EVGA is a great card at this price. I i had found this card one month ago, i bought it. The 1.0 ns Samsung memory ( 1 GHz ) is so better than the 1.2 ns qimonda of my XFX ( 800MHz ).
However i had luck with mine, running stable @ 1000 MHz ( 2000 effective ).

You know I was waiting for EVGA's 8800GS cards, but now with cheap 9600GT cards and cheap 3850/70 cards flooding the market, 8800GS makes little sense. Heck, even 8800GT cards can be found for about $180 nowadays.

for me who every dollar matters and rebates do not (because of where i live) the 8800GS is still an option .. why wont someone buy my 7900GS :'(

My local MicroCenter has 9600GT cards going for $150 flat + tax, on Newegg they can be had for $150 AR (EVGA model). Newegg-wise 8800GT cards can be had for around $190/$200 AR ( MSI/EVGA models)

By the way, what happened to your sale candle_86? You were selling your XFX 8800GS for $120/$130 was it?

I could care less which sticker they put on the cooler. I liked how my old BFG 6800 had no stickers at all, it just had a nice metal cooler, no plastic stuff like most of todays cards including my eVGA 8800GT.

okay 150.00 plus tax is 170.00 (50.00 more than 8800 gs) thats no good,150.00 plus shipping is 159.00 thats 30.00 more than a 8800gs, and at 190.00 for a 8800 gt is 69.00 more than a 8800gs so none of these deals are better than the XFX 8800 gs on newegg. If you can find a 9600 gt cheaper than a 8800 gs go for it short of that the gs is the better deal.
