Exchange my GTX1080Ti FE for a GTX1080 FE (1080p 60hz gaming)

This does not sound like a smart decision to me but if you don't plan on getting a decent 1440P gaming monitor soon just get the 1080 and the extra cash.
You should've given a bit more thought to the 1080 idea before buying the 1080Ti imo

Decent monitor, they cost more than US$ 300. Besides everything looks small on the screen.

Gaming monitors are expensive for me.
Besides, 2k of resolution makes content to be small on the screen, I tested one before and I can barely see the letters.

So, you can buy gpus and sell them, MULTIPLE times to DOWNGRADE... money isn't an issue there, but suddenly when it's suggested to get a monitor which is appropriate for your overzealous purchase, THAT is too much??????

If the icons and writing are too small, turn up thier size like 99% of people do.

Make more sense than money. Reverse your trend of more money than sense.

I have a few friends who the monitor out lasted 3 generations of GPUs. I rather pay extra for a good monitor and save a little on the gpu, like a 1070.

I hope you didn't spent ridiculous amounts of money on "Marketing Edition" GPU.
Anyways. keep it for at least 4-5 years, since it will be able to handle everything at 1080p and 1440p.

Keep the 1080Ti it only just powers Wildlands for me @ 1440P if you drop down to a normal 1080 your only getting 60FPS average thats not counting frame dips.

A badly optimized game is hardly a good metric though. This game is built to cripple GPUs so you buy a higher tier, I have yet to discover any other purpose for its release. Probably why Nvidia bundles it. If you do a few simple tweaks that you'll visually cant even distinguish, you run that game at 100+ fps. Put The Division next to it and be amazed

Wildlands is built on the same engine as previous Ubi games, there is nothing next gen about it. All they do is splash some ungodly amount of costly post processing on top. Remember The Witcher 3 hairworks? Same deal, coincidentally launching right when Maxwell (with improved tesselation) launched.

It's super obvious. Again, compare The Division (which runs on a custom engine) to the performance of any Dunia Engine Ubisoft title. The difference is staggering, the Division looks better and runs almost 40% more efficient.
