I found this to be interesting that ATi (according to the site below) is allowing AIB's to not use their referance cooling by default. I find that to be smart because their coolers do not do well which is said from them and from my personal exprience.

The X1900XT/X/CF coolers are really good...but noisy. if they could lower the noise, that would be the best.

cool news, tho it sounds like it's probably a cost cutting measure on ati's part; let the AIB's handle the cooling costs.
however, seeing how the boards r next to identical, this does give AIB's to differentiate themselves a bit more. Even though the likes of sapphire and HiS offer very unique solutions.
