I don't see the big deal. As already mentioned, you can easily acquire it, and in very legal ways. You just can't purchase it retail, locally, in a boxed version.

This really only affects people who don't have the means or the know-how to acquire it without going to the store to buy it, and a major portion of those persons are children/kids.

I think it's doing just what's intended.

However it's a sad state when governments have to morally dictate by law. Then again, people do it to themselves, by not being able to exhibit civility, wisdom and moderation.

discussions about firearms are unrelated to the topic - i've got a firearms licence, and i see no need for them in everyday life. go compare the annual deaths by firearms between the USA and australia, and you'll see a very good point in favour of our system.

There is no reason to have guns in everyday life, but banning guns is illogical. Firearms being leagal in the US has nothing to do with the gun deaths. 98% of gun deaths in the US are caused by illeagal guns purchased on the blackmarket by criminals. If guns were banned in the US then only criminals that got there guns off the blackmarket would have guns and normal law abiding citizens would have no way to protect themselfs.

Sorry Trip. That was my fault. I forget how easily things can get off track in these threads. All I was saying is the fact your guns were taken away for the most part it allows the government to do things unchallenged......EVER. Anyway sorry. Honestly I can see this being Ok. They should control what the kids see in school. College is a different story mind you. I think censorship is good until they leave school. Kids don't need to be exposed to "goatse" and the such. School should be a neutral place of ideology. Not conservative and not liberal. I also think they should have some kind of moral responsibility to teach manners. Respect your elders/other people and such. Instead they are more concerned with breaking spirits and forcing useless conformity on kids. When the kids come home however the governments involvement should end when the bell rings.
