Video Card(s) 2060 EVGA SC
Hi, I'm new here so sorry for eventual mistakes. After months I wanted to fix the issue with my GPU. I bought a EVGA 2060 sc used in summer 2024. The seller was a man that modified the bios and the cooling making the gpu custom looped. When he sold the card to me he said that the fan was locked to mximum speed. I installed the card and it was impossible to fix the issue, also the card was not recognised by the system so i couldn't use nvidia app to update the drivers. I contacted the evga support and they sent me a rom file that fix the nvidia app problem ( the card is ricognised by the system and I can update the driver via nvidia app) but not the fan issue. Do you have any idea?

Is the pwm wire going to the fans ok? The fans should be connected by a 4 pin connector. Check if all the wires are there and not broken.

Yes all the wire are connected properly, I even tried with another fan

Thank you for your time but i don't think is a voltage problem since without the driver the fan stars normally

Ok let me research your card

So this is your card.

Have you by any chance taken off the heatsink and replaced the thermal pads and paste?

Do you have any overclocking utilities installed? Any mining programs, any folding or crunching programs?

I suggest you Try an older driver and possibly these bios.

The last ditch effort 1s are with the 1680 boost.

If it doesn't change with older driver and bios, it is safe to say the fan sensor went bad and I suggest you replace the fan with 1 you can control with a rheostat, zip tie the fan onto the card if need be.

The issue i see is 0 rpm reported, and if the gpu reports that to the driver the driver will force the bios to go into fail safe mode to keep card from smoking itself.
