I will post this just to help potential victims of poor drivers by Fanatec. I lost hours and days!!!!
Based on their sales statements, you should be able to plug G27 pedals into the wheel unit and race along!
Doing this, in my case, the pedals were ON/OFF buttons, not analogue axis, so driving was horrible.
I tried all their driver versions. I wrote to Fanatec. They repeated : it is a plug and play system! But anyway, they sent me a new adaptor (a small 1 euro piece of cable with a plug for the G27 pedals that comes with the wheel): no changes.
Well, now, after installing Win10 I could not succesfully install the Fanatec drivers so i tested the MS barebone drivers. AND NOW THE PEDAL AXISES WORK IN ALL GAMES (Project Cars, Asseto, F12015, etc)
(A whole new experience by the way...)
Then I went into Windows 8, to test this solution, uninstalled everything from Fanatec (drivers and a control panel)
and it ALSO WORKS AS IT SHOULD.
Adenda: I remember that the Fanatec control panel replacement does not have a Callibration routine. The Microsoft stock applet does, and it is very important to execute it. The cause for this bug may be laying here.
