I am wanting to install Phanteks t30-120 fans on my radiators but want some RGB. Putting aside the merits of RGB and opinions on whether it makes things go faster, has anyone tried something like the Phanteks Halo or similar products? Should I be looking at something different?

Benchmark Scores My system matches standard results. I use benchmarks to set fan curves; I don't care about scores.
Phanteks Halo rings work fine; I've used the 3-pin addressable RGB versions as well as the 4-pin models. Both versions have 4.5 stars at Amazon.com with hundreds of reviews along with plenty of customer photographs.

Note that they add some thickness (maybe 5mm). In the box there are longer 6-32 UNC screws for mounting 25mm thick fans to radiators but they will still be too short for your 30mm thick fans.

If you use a radiator that requires M3 screws, you'll need to make a trip to the hardware store to buy longer ones even if you had 25mm thick fans.

I had no issues connecting them to both ASUS (Aura) and MSI (Mystic Light) motherboards and they work fine with products from other vendors (e.g., RGB CPU and GPU waterblocks from Alphacool).

I heard there were some issues with LEDs failing. Not your experience?

Not my experience. If LED failure were commonplace, I'm pretty sure that would be reflected in the Amazon rating and reviews.

For what it's worth, Phanteks offers a 2 year warranty on this LED product line:

Hi,
I like corsair ML120 or 140 regular fans but they do have rgb ones to.

Static Pressure1.85 mm H2O ;) given that a min of 1.5mm (0.059inch) is desirable.

the only phanteks i saw w/rgb were
those have (according to phanteks) 0.96mm. i'm sure they'll be ok for a slim or CLC rad. but if you have a 45mm thick boy.

Not at zero rpm though.

:D

It's 1.85mm H2O static pressure at 2000 rpm.

Note that the Noctua F-12 PWM is 2.61mm at its maximum speed of 1500 rpm. The Arctic fan is quieter at its top speed but I don't run PC fans at maximum though.

Anyhow OP seems determined to use the beefier 30mm thick fans on their radiator. The question wasn't if anyone had RGB fan recommendations. OP was asking about adding RGB bling to the non-RGB fans.

Perhaps the community members of TechPowerUp can stick to the original topic for once. That would be a delightfully refreshing change from the norm around here.

OP also asked should they be looking at something different. so maybe just worry about yourself - i would be amazed if people learn to stay in their own lane for once.

back on topic, it is always give and take; want pressure and flow? increase rpms, which can increase noise. been like that since the beginning - thanks for pointing that out - its extremely helpful. :)

Oh, one guy on YouTube years ago. Okay. There must be a problem with this product despite the 4.5 star rating from hundreds of customers at Amazon.

Right.

OP also asked should they be looking at something different.
I think OP meant another RGB fan ring attachment product to pimp out their 30mm thick fan.

The Phanteks T30-120 fan beats all 25mm thick fans in static pressure performance.

Anyhow, the Phanteks Halo product line fulfills the OP's usage case. I answered the OP's question and pointed out some specific caveats.

It's worth pointing out that I have moved my Phanteks Halo rings between different builds, often leaving behind the actual fan with the previous build. Having separate fans and RGB rings provides some freedom in product selection.
