Far cry 3 save problem

Iam starting to play Fc3 and the game doesn't save manually whenever I want to. So far there are only checkpoints and that's very annoying because when I die it always puts me back to the safehouse so I have to start the mission over again.

it saves manually but when you load/die you are put to closest save house/radio tower. this the way game is made.
even if you manually load your save you will still be sent to save house/radio tower.

You can't save during missions either.
