There are now a true plethora of streaming services available to the consumer in today's markets. My thoughts for the community are which ones do you like the best and why? My favourites are as follows;

1. Disney+

Pros :

1. It maybe new but man is there a ton of pop culture content
2. Easily navigated menu
3. The Mandalorian
4. You can download any content.
5. The Simpsons (30 Seasons)

Cons:

1. Due to existing agreements not every Marvel movie is available to watch
2. Most of the content is pre-exsiting and if you are into pop culture you have seen most of them already

2. DC Universe

Pros:

1. It has a ton of content and most of it is pretty good
2. Season 3 of JY and 2 Seasons of Titans
3. There are a ton of comic books to read

Cons:

1. I have to use a VPN to use it as it is officially only supported in the US
2. They don't add a lot of new content
3. Some comics like one of my favourites the Warlord has limited numbers of issues (2 to be exact).
4. It costs more than Disney+

3. Netflix

Pros:

1. Nice GUI and it has more content than the other 2 including overseas content.
2. It has anime
3. You usually get an entire season in 1 shot.

Cons:

1. It is too easy to waste 8 to 10 hours binging due to pro 3.
2. It keeps going up in price
3. The Canadian version has about 40% of the content of the US site.

Amazon Prime

Pros

1. It has some truly unique content
2. It is "free" with your Prime membership
3. It has some of the good 80s and 90s anime (Macross, Escaflowne etc....)

Cons:

1. It is easy to forget as there is not a ton of good content

For me right now it’s PrIme. It’s the cheapest and has lots of 4K content at no extra cost. I’m using Netflix less and less and I buy a month of HBO here and there and binge what I’m after. Disney+ has no solid availability date for me yet but the content is of interest to me if the price is right.

I really have to investigate further what is available on Prime. I get exactly what you are saying about Netflix though. I think I did not even renew my subscription. You will enjoy Disney +. It does not have a ton of new content but when they add those Marvel Universe shows (Falcon & Winter Soldier e.g.) they should take off.

I have Prime, Netflix and Hulu Live.

Since I am a sports guy, the Live part of Hulu is where it is at for me (no cable).

Yeah I’m really after all the Disney classic content and a lot of the cartoons like X-men for example and I really want to see Flight of the Navigator again.
Prime has some great original content like Man in the High Castle and the absolutely amazing The Boys. The new season of The Expanse is a week away which I’m very excited about And if you go down the rabbit hole like me I have found so many amazing WW2 documentaries I love to watch. I highly recommend The Nuclear Test Films for example.
Primes main problem is actually finding that kind of thing but once you “hit a vein“ your‘e set

Prime has a lot of interesting shows, like Carnival Row, American Gods, The Man in the High Castle and obviously now also the Expanse. Jacky Ryan, Taken and the Boys were ok as well.
There's also a ton of content I'm not at all interested in, but hey I guess that goes with any and all streaming services...

Netflix has quite limited content here as well, but they have some shows I watch so...

You forgot about Apple TV, but so far their only two worthwhile shows seems to be For All Mankind and See.

I have Disney+, Prime, and cable again. I did have Netflix for years, but I haven’t been watching it much lately so I cancelled. On prime I’m watching The Boys, The Grand Tour and old Top Gear, haven’t watched any of the new ones since the trio left. Disney+ is for her and the kids mostly, though I haven’t explored it too much yet.

Seriously outside of The Mandalorian The Boys is probably the best new thing on television. One episode and I guarantee you’ll be hooked

I hate them all. I think they are rackets. I really hate that no streaming service carries everything I want to watch.

I already pay a fortune every month for my Internet and cable TV (which includes DVR rental and service) - and I hate that I have to pay extra for the package that includes HLN and BBC America because those are not included in the basic cable bundle.

I've been a Star Trek fan since TOS first came out. But if I want to watch Star Trek: Discovery, it is only available with a CBS All Access subscription - or wait until each season's box set comes out on DVD.

I did break and get Netflix and I like that. But I think it sad watching TV costs me more each month than my gas, electric, cell, water/sewer utility bills combined.

I’m lucky and I get it on Netflix Nordic because said service doesn’t exist here, but I understand your frustration. I’ve been bothering my landlord for months to properly set up his TV account so I can redistribute the “points” so I can have HBO and BBC Earth among other channels miss. I barely watch actual TV for lack of channels that have been bumped for Sports Channels neither of us have any use for...

You forgot Hulu.

I have Prime, but only because I have Amazon Prime for buying stuff. I rarely use the Prime streaming.

I don't really have a favorite, and I don't even subscribe to any on a regular basis. I tend to subscribe to a random one every couple of months just for a month. I find I can watch everything I want to watch on a given service in a month, after the month is up, I don't really have a urge to keep the subscription going. So I'll sign up for Netflix for a month, binge watch what I want on there. Then go a month or two not subscribed to anything, then I might sign up for Hulu and binge what I want on there for a month. Then another month or two with nothing, then maybe back to Netflix. I really only subscribe to the services that have original content that I can't get anywhere else. Mind you I also have constant access to Comcast streaming, so most of the stuff on like HBO+ I can also stream through Comcast streaming. So I mostly find myself jumping back and forth between Netflix and Hulu. I might start throwing Disney+ in if they come out with anything original that compels me.

the two we always have

1- Prime - plus you can have Showtime and HBO stream through the app and Amazon used give you $1 off showtime each month.
2 - PlayStation Vue - best cable replacement app

what we rotate through besides HBO and Showtime

Netflix - has the best and worst original programs
Hulu - has exclusive rights to Curious George and several programs the wife watches. We will probably switch over to Hulu full time once PlayStation vue calls it quits in January but they don't carry AMC

cable replacement apps like Hulu, PS Vue, Youtube TV, Sling, etc., offer your local channels plus channels like BBC America and HLN and they all offer cloud DVR

I usually rely on Youtube & Rarbg why you ask because Netflix is expensive and crap here as Sky TV holds most of the rights to the good TV progs and they're even more expensive not interested in Disney+ or Amazon Prime so I just download what I want to watch and nothing else

Currently using Netflix, Hulu, Prime (already had), Disney + and Sling. Had DC, but I only liked it for the Titans so after I finished watching it I stopped the subscription.

do you like the best and why?
Pornhub, obvious.... :kookoo:

I only pay for Amazon Prime for shopping so it like a bonus that goes with my fire TV box, the additional content just seemed sensible to get. I had Netflix and may return to it again, at the time i just didnt watch it enough.

Pornhub, obvious.... :kookoo:

I only pay for Amazon Prime for shopping so it like a bonus that goes with my fire TV box, the additional content just seemed sensible to get. I had Netflix and may return to it again, at the time i just didnt watch it enough.
See I feel like I’m the only guy that’s just paying for Prime Video. Actually the whole payment thing was a mystery to me for months because I couldn’t figure out where I was getting billed there was zero information in my web account, I had no subscription active to cancel but was still paying and st getting Prime. It wasn’t until I installed the app on my iPad so I could stream to my Chromecast I finally found my “receipts” there. I’m wondering if I’m getting a better deal or you regular Prime users are...

Even if you remotely enjoyed Star Wars The Mandalorian is great especially if you were also a fan of the Clint Eastwood Spaghetti Westerns.

While I’m certainly not waiting for The Mandalorian I am totally waiting for Disney+ to become available and evening signed up for an alert.

Benchmark Scores World Community Grid is my benchmark!!
I have Prime and watch the content there weekly, or every couple three days. I like a few of thier series and wait patiently between seasons, watching another, couple episodes a week. I work a lot, unfortunately it's a salary job. But, recently got another key-holder so, as long as my AGM doesn't flake on me, like today, I don't have to work open to close shifts, anymore.

Which means more time off, to get things done and possibly game or watch more Prime, after I get frustrated w/ gaming! LOL.

anyway, I will have more time to get my gaming rig set up, got the last piece sitting in my PO box, delivered today, since I got stuck at work until just a few minutes ago. Hopefully, I can pick it up in the morning, get the rig together and have it running by tomorrow evening.. Sorry, I digress.

I love my Prime and the shows, and the car, and motorcycle, stuffs they have on there.

cable replacement apps like Hulu, PS Vue, Youtube TV, Sling, etc., offer your local channels plus channels like BBC America and HLN and they all offer cloud DVR
Sorry but not completely true. Hulu does not offer local channels in all cities. Nor does it offer BBC America (at least not here in the Omaha area) - essential for Whovians. Nor does it offer CBS All Access.

Sling does not offer HLN. And Sling does not offer local channels. As seen here, that requires an antenna to get OTA TV. If I could do that I would but unfortunately, I live on the side of the "other side" of the highest hill in all of Eastern Nebraska - from all of the broadcast antennas that are located in downtown Omaha. I would need a 100 foot, at least, tower.

Those other alternatives have the same issues - they offer some, but not all of the channels I watch.

That's why I think it is a racket (and maybe even a full-on conspiracy). Why is there not one provider that offers all popular channels, including local channels? Surely they are all "out there" and available on the Internet.

I don't feel BBC America and HLN are obscure channels yet I know of no service that offers both, except my cable provider (Cox). And yet I had to add on their "Premium Bundle" (at an extra cost, of course) to get those over their "Basic Bundle". :(

Why is there not a "roll your own" service that lets subscribers pick and choose only the channels they want? There are probably 20 channels, at most, that ever get watched in this household between me, the kids and grandkids. But to get those 20, I have to subscribe to over 130 channels. That's just ridiculous.
