No shit dude. I have a 27" LG and worried how my 4870 will play on my second gamer with a 19 ".
Read my post and and let me know what you think I should do. Unless you are Nvidia biased. I have
gamed for 15 years and they have went back and forth. ATI right now is easier on your sytem, but I want performance.

I read your post and the 470 would definitely be the way to go, the 5830 is kind of the bastard step child of the 5850, and really has no place imo. Performance would be better with the 470, but of course another option is the 5850, as it uses less power and has a less heat output with similar performance. But of course with the recent price drop on the Fermi cards as well as the better drivers, that could turn you the other way into the green camp.
And your 4870 should run perfect with a 19'' monitor, as i myself ran a HD 4870 (512MB) card with my 19'' monitor and it ran my games nicely.
