i don't know if this thread is been made but i'm asking what you guys think of this year football game.

Personally i find PES 2010 much better than Fifa 2010 as it is more challenging and the graphics is amazing.
Both games improved there gameplay but i want your thoughts on which you prefer. :)

Well i've always been a fifa person myself. However not having played one since fifa 07 on the xbox i thought i'd best give it a go.

I tried Fifa 10 on the pc and what a shock. The graphics are ghastly. I thought things were ment to be moving forward. The graphics on fifa 97 on my sega look better than what fifa have ea have done twelve years later. I was really dissapointed. Despite that i do like the way the game plays, and the differant modes, etc.

Having never played pes i was a bit reluctant to be honest. I have heard stories of it being mega complicated. But just looking at fifa 10 on the pc offends me and my pc. Come on EA i didn't spend all this money on graphics cards, etc for you to fuck it all up.

So i borrowed my mates copy of pes 10 and proceeded to install it. Instantly i was surprised how quickly it installed compared to fifa 10. Then came actually starting the game, wow! PES seem to have put a lot more effort into the movies, etc. Then onto game play! Fook! I nearly got a semi. The graphics are amazing, more than amazing really. And the likeness of the players is outstanding. PES earn a 20 out of 10 for the looks of the game. Onto how the game plays, and im pleasently surprised, it seems a little bit more realistic than fifa. The balls seems to travel more naturally and the whole feel of the game is better. The best way to describe it is as tho fifa is a sunday league team, not great but gets the job done. Whereas PES is more premier class, has a lot more professional feel about it.

Overall PES is my winner!

im very very disappointed that PES have lost the 'stats compare' graph thats in the middle of the screen when messing about with players and formations. it made things so much easier to quickly compare players. When i tried in the demo i didnt have a clue what i was doing! so sad to say but this year i think im giving them both a miss :-(

Your giving pes a miss becasue of a graph? The graph is still there it just compares the actual teams now not the players its in the top in the retail version.

I like how the players if you move there positions when doing the formation the little number changes to show you how good they are in that position if you dont know a player this can be handy.

Goalkeepers are better but at times they still act like idiots.

Free kicks are better so is corners but penalty system is the worst yet, had a shootout online with a mate and it went wide every time and his went straight everytime, keepers tend to save more but players are worse at penalties

Master league is much better but one thing spoils it, if the player isnt in a team in the game you cannot buy him, no more ribery or naldo pinches! I dont like how you have to modify a A-Z team to get a brand new team there is no longer just a new team option that lets you create a team.

Graphics are great all players look like real life counter parts, i like the stadium lighting effects.

Online is fun has tournaments and better stability!

Defending is better, players cover space more, players act more intelligent or rather stupid if stats are bad! lol

I thought no one on tpu would be bothered at all rofl!

Penalties don't need fixing, you just need to re-learn how to take them.

You choose a height and a direction. Height is determined by how long you hold shoot (tap it to hit it low). Direction is determined by which direction you hold. If you hold left as soon as the play starts running towards the ball then it'll go wide. If you hold left just before he kicks the ball it'll go straight down the middle. Halfway between the player's starting point and kicking the ball and you'll put it in, close to the post. Of course if a player has a low PK rating then it starts to go down to luck a bit more.

Once you master it you'll realise it's awesome and that they've finally added some skill to penalties. You now have loads more control over them!

thats how it tells you to hit them in the manual but it doesnt work like that in practise
stuttering is maybe a driver issue

vsync is off, the option is greyed out because Win 7 is running at 59 Hz instead of 60 Hz and you can't force it to run at 60 Hz, it comes back to 59.

You can only force it to 60 with Rivatuner, then select the vsync option and enjoy tear free PES

on my desktop pes 2010 runs at 65fps constant so i have no idea.
Also i got it installed on my laptop too on 1280x800 on low settings it gets 45fps which is pretty good although it looks like its playing on 20-30fps is that my laptop fault or something??:S i'm pretty sure 45fps wouldn't look like its laggy normally heres my laptops specs:
amd dual core turian x2 2.0ghz
3GB ram
ati radeon hd3200
windows 7

This Poll should distinguish between FIFA on PC or Consoles and PES2010.

But even if we were comparing PES 2010 (PC/Console) to FIFA (Console), PES would still get my vote. For all FIFA's dinky little touches, smooth animations and excellent presentation, it is still a game where 1-1 situations (and the AI springs loads of them upon the gameplay) means a goal everytime thru either a chip-shot or a placed shot. To me, that aint even a fucking game.

On the subject of all things ProEvo, here iare some links to my 'Premium Blend' chants pack which includes corrected kits and badges for all club teams:

Part 2:
http://www.filefront.com/14813861/Pr...ges_.part2.rar

Part 3:

All three files above are needed!

UPDATE SEGMENT (Kills off Konami's shockingly bad chants completely)
http://www.filefront.com/14817679/PE...nts_Remedy.rar
(Copy the contents of the above file into the MatTheCatChants folder before installing, or repeat AFS instructions A, below)

The original pack ommitted to edit the generic Team slots which meant that there were still many teams that had Konami's nauseous crowd sounds. Apply the update above to elminate Konami's Audio-Evil from the game once and for all.

NEWSGROUPS LINK:

For those of you who have Newsgroup accounts, here is a link which allow you to get the pack (update included) as fast as your internet connection can handle:
