No joke, FileFront (which hosts numerous game patches, utilities, mods, skins, etc.) will be shutting down indefinitely March 30, 2009. A very sad note for the gaming and modding communities . . .

    http://farewell.filefront.com/

So, if there's anything you've been meaning to download, best do it now while everything is still available.

    Exeodus and Kei say thanks.

I'm sure, considering just how many different files and such they host, for so many different games . . .

I'm curious how easy it'll be to download stuff the next few days - I get the feeling due to high demand, downloads will be moving at a crawl.

that's what a lot of us thought . . . but it doesn't seem that way.

the FileFront forums were shut down yesterday, and the closure notice was only released today.

    at least . . . I surely hope it's not a joke, that'd be a bit cruel.

Filefront is always the link I choose cause it is free, don't have to login, and it is fast. Sad to see it go!

I switched to www.gamershell.com after finding out File Front didn't have a lot of patches I need. I've been using them since. Before File Front, I used 3dgamers but IGN killed the service and now the domain links to el'crapo File Planet.

Damn, that was unexpected. If they'd have made a notice asking for donations or w/e to keep the site alive I would probably have donated.

    Farewell.

What the hell ! No! This is a disaster ! I rather have them get a bailout rather than those other stupid companies.
