FileFront is shutting down Mar 30th

^^maybe true, but a large database site such as filefront helped bring almost everything together in one place, making it easier for newcomers to find material, and a great place for users to regularly check-up on for new releases . . . without having to wade through countless websites and forum posts.

I can't be hassled with fileplanet, gamershell isn't organized enough for my tastes . . . I'm sure something else will come along to fill in the void that filefront will be leaving behind.

For all the STALKER fans (and others in general) - word is that FFxSTALKERx is working feverously with some other users to get as much possible backed up to off-site servers (including all the SoC/CS material). The idea is being thrown around of having either a new site dedicated to STALKER mods, or trying to merge them all in else where.

That is exactly why TPU would never shut down, regardless. A very strong user base. I myself have donated towards, and hosted donations for people on this very site who were down and out or who got screwed on a deal.

Not shut down . . . but seeing as how their operations are suspended - you won't be able to get any downloads for much longer.

I'm not sure if the main site and it's branches are going bye-bye . . . but as it stands, the top downloads and latest 50 file listings are gone, the forums are gone, weekly polls aren't being updated . . . I guess we'll have to see how it looks tomorrow . . .

The forum is gone lol, site still up and running. But hey we still have gamershell , they have fast servers just like filefront.

Don't know about uploads. I think only filefront was the only one that allowed that option. Also zipping files is not a problem, only takes about 2-3 mins to extract the files.

there's a couple of other sites that allow users uploads . . . but FF was the easiest to deal with, and they were organized.

FPSBANANA allows user uploads - but the process itself is a PITA, the site is slow, and it's organization skills are quite lacking.

As far as I know, gamershell doesn't allow user uploads . . . but I might be wrong - although I don't see any form of link on their site . . .

FilePlanet allows user uploads, but, I find the site distracting, and too full of "bling"

ModDB allows users to showcase their mod, and provides download links . . . but I'm not sure it users can upload or not.

there's some other sites out as well, but I can't remember their names off the top of my head
