Well to be honest, they are in the safe range but on the HIGH end of the safe range.

How do you measure your temperature? Coretemp reports much higher temperatures than BIOS, or other motherboard based sensors. You have to run Linpack in OCCT when overclocking. It heats up the CPU(Intel's at least) the most of any other tools and it produces nice graphs, so you'll see the core temperature when it freezes. From my experience, unless you change the voltages, that temperature limit will remain the same. That will give you pretty accurate measurement of how much you have left.

yeah you're totally fine... 65C is ideal target - i.e. if i am not loading at 65c, i try to push my OC a bit further. i7's load at like 75C on air cooling and everyone seems to be OK with that.

I would be happy with that temps. 65C load it is not much IMO.

They load at closer to 80c+ on air with occt unless with highend air/ln2 cooling. That said I can video encode all day long and utilise 70-100c of the proc and it never goes above 70c so i can live with that, as no app will ever stress a cpu like occt/linpack etc

But for the op 65c is fine for that chip in hot summer :toast:
