There are 5850's on the egg. Two OC'd XFX versions.

For those OC'd editions, yeah not really worth it. Supply and demand, this is how it works. It's a bit silly calling people morons though, kind of hypocritical coming from you. ;)

Up $60 from launch  Wonder how high they'll go. The 5850's were $300.00 at launch weren't they?

I'm feeling pretty good about the launch day purchase.

*Edit* xxx edition, slight over clock. That always brings more on cost...

I was expecting a better overclock from the XXX version myself. I was thinking about jumping on one but decided to pass since the overclock is minor. Won't be until tax season that I'll probably have money enough again to get one so maybe ATI will have got better at the process and get better chips out plus some of the non reference designs should be out by then.

5850's were around 269.99 at launch and they come with Dirt 2 for free. So really about 219.00. Luckily I was going to buy Dirt 2 anyways, so I saved myself some money.

How is it hypocritical? I have never ever payed jacket up prices for items like this, never. I have bought high dollar items but I would never support this type of price gouging. Also the people paying these prices are making it worse. Some of these at cards have jump near 100.00 over retail suggested prices and thats crazy.

$309 still isn't horrible for price/performance. And yes, I was reffering to your daily graphics card purchases you were making for a while. Like I said, I do agree that charging 20 to 40 dollars more for a pretty insignificant overclock is ridiculous.

These are not no name sites but usually competitive pricing sites, gouging the hell out of people, if you participate in this by buying these cards, then your a moron (when I say this I mean no person in particular). I call them like I see them.

I have to agree that it is a ridiculous time to buy a 5870 or 5850. If people had just a little patience, you'll probably see them drop significantly after Christmas.

I had a 5870 ordered for 350.00 shipped from Mwave 3 weeks ago and i'm glad I turned it down, to heck with them and their prices. AMD needs to get a handle on this.

That would be okay but your prices are about 50.00+ to high as well (over suggested retail price 269.99). Sorry but I call them like I see them, 335.00 is not a good price on a 5850. You notice I'm not bashing you on your sale thread or here but stating a fact. You are advertising for buyers and opened yourself up here.

BAD VENDORS! It really is gouging. There are only 2 5850's in stock at MWave, and they are $399!!! For Christ sake! - the NON Stock 5870's are only $10 more. Sick.
