Meh, looks ok.

I'm unhappy with the current state of PC gaming. I went to store tonight to find a PC game and left empty handed bec. of the lack of selection/good games.

AVP better be good or I retire PC gaming to move onto pro scrabble or some crap.

Ditto! Try flight simulators such as Microsoft's FS9 or FSX, and there is X-Plane and Orbiter too.

a) slow internet connection
b) unreliable internet connection
c) format, frequently
d) not enough hard drive space to keep install files + installed games

Steam makes no sense to me. I never lose my disks, FYI. I have four x 200+ CD binders and they never leave my sight. All CD keys are copied to, and the games installed from, a spreadsheet with the lot of them. If I lose the box, oh well. Then again, I've never lost a box either. Steam offers me no advantage over buying retail.

Steam doesn't have Earth 2140 nor Earth 2150 (series of three). There's four games you can't download from Steam right there.

I'm with GT90...STEAM is okay, but I'm more of a "need something tangible in my possession" type of guy.

Except for the fact that you DONT HAVE TO LEAVE YOUR HOUSE :p. nah i hear ya... but steam > physical CD's for me... I manage spreadsheets all day, and the less of those in my life, the better.

PLUS Steam has a wider selection than any store. And I get to do it on my awesome rig, instead going out in Miami traffic (seriously they drive like its latin america down here) and sitting in it for 45 mins each way to get to best buy just to see some wimpy game collection, forget it. Im gonna start the download, sit my ass on the couch, and watch a movie - itll prolly get done faster than by the time i get back from the store.

+ the space argument is just garbage hdd space is so cheap these days and even OEM rigs and laptops come with enough space... I mean those games are 2gb a pop for the big ones, its not like youre running them on your EEPC lol.

AND you dont have to "get out the CD, put it in the drive..." physical media sucks. If I format thats great, for me steam keeps all my games! I just go to sleep, start the download, and when I wake up, all my games are back!

best program ever, that is all i have to say. AND IT WILL HAVE MASS EFFECT 2 !!11!!1!
