HUUUUGE Success.

I sent out a whole bunch of invitations to my students. friends and colleagues. Surprisily most people show up are my students. Guess younger people do have a taste for new technology.

Among my students I had 2 guys in their mid 20s and 6 girls around same age. So I'm gonna break down their preferences in terms of VR title.

Guys:
#1 Space Pirate Trainer. They played this one the MOST. Easy to pick up and ready to rock.
#2 Serious Sam The Last Hope. Another wave shooter. Graphics is way better than SPT.
#3 Nekopalive. Welp there is no need to hold back but apparently VR cat-girls are a big hit among young guys(why am I not surprised actually?)

Girls:
#1 Google Earth VR. Yep they went on scene seeing craze. One of the girl was touring her hometown and pointing out to the rest of us where she grew up as well as where she went to school.
#2 SteamHOME. I am really surprised. It seems they just love browsing the different steam home environments.
#3 Audio Shield.

So overall it was a blast. One of the female student actually is so convinced in VR that she wanted to start to learn how to code for VR(she is bioinformatics major). Overall I am very happy of showing the young minds the latest technology.

And yeah, I asked all of them whether they are brave enough to try some 360 VR adult VR. Both of the guys and 2 girls tried (There are full length video for female enjoyment as well). Their reactions were priceless.

First VR party and last. Apparently during the test some asshole broke both of my controllers and didn't tell me. Now I can't use my VR at all. Guess that is the downside of you trying to share new tech with careless people.

So nope. I am never holding VR party with amateurs who has zero sense of caring for expensive hardware.

Nice! I don't know how I missed this thread... It has been a busy week. I just finished a few rounds of Pavlov and wow! It was amazing. The only thing that is rough for me is actually crouching down behind something.. I started to lean on it while I was behind it.. lol Plus, I'm pretty slow getting up and down. It's hard dropping down onto one knee with a bare knee on hard wood floors.. lol I made some adjustments to my cable management system (my wife is going to kick my ass when she gets home and see's it.. lol). It feels really good and actually feels like you are free of the cable.

I have picked up Pavlov over the Steam sale as well. Well so far I haven't figure out how to even switch weapons. Stupid me.

Everything considered I am going to invest in TPCast over DAS for now. Going wireless is so damn tempting.

First time I tried it, I was playing Elite Dangerous. I was watching a larger ship passing me above and while watching it I leaned too far back in my chair and WHOMP!

Yea, wireless will be a game changer, but my cable management system hanging from my ceiling is working really well. I can't blame you for saving for that, but once you can afford a DAS then get it, you won't be disappointed. I was a little let down with the audio at first, but after I fine tuned it.. Now it works great, grated I have to turn the system volume all the way up and then adjust the volume in Steam VR to 75%.

First time I tried it, I was playing Elite Dangerous. I was watching a larger ship passing me above and while watching it I leaned too far back in my chair and WHOMP!
Yea, ED is amazing in VR. I just wish I was a better pilot.. lol I'm ready for ED to have crew members. So, I can just sit back and man a gun or something. I need to buy Voice Attack now that it's on Steam. I head it works wall with SC as well.

Damn! I missed that part of the VR Party.. What's wrong with them? I know there is a ribben cable that comes loose after taking some big hits. It doesn't happen to everybody, but a few have reported it.

You sure that wasn't the startled cat? Felines are hard(er) to train in the art of VR.
