Hello gents
I have 2 amd hd 7800 running in crossfire I know there older cards and it is time to upgrade but don't really have the bucks right now.
I have them oced right now core 860 mhz mem 1200 mhz power controll +20%.

In 3d Mark system is stable but very low fps 11 if I remember right gaming stable and I average 60 to 80 fps.
And that is on low settings. The simulation is rf2 for reference.

I have been reading the guides here on flashing and I also saw a updated bios for a reference amd 7950
? If there is a bio update for this gpu is there a difference between a reference card and a card by Asus.

Also I know I am getting a fps hit.as I run 3 24" monitors

? If I don't flash the cards with the new bios numbers and just try to oc them to the.new core and mem clocks would the be a indexation that my cards will not flash or run the new clocks.

Sorry I had to edit this as.the cards are 7800 (don't know what I was thinking) back to the search.

I will put up more in a few
Thanks in advance.
Ruben

As far as I know you can't flash an AMD card with a BIOS from one that uses a different GPU. And in this regard a 79xx BIOS would not work on a 78xx card since they do not share the same GPU.

The only card you could technically flash to is a 7870. But I strongly advise not to.

To expand on the previous comment I believe only particular 7870s share the same chip type I believe it's the 7870XT specifically iirc

However I could very well be mistaken it's been quite a while

take the heatsinks off the GPUs, reapply thermal compound, also thermal pads, use MSI Afterburner to Overclock them, is your best bet for now.

Yes will give that a try
Can't hurt
I third mis after burner and Asus gpu tweak and I put 5% on for and memory oc the moniter starts to blick.
The temps are not high 35 at idle and 40 to 45 0n load.
But the blinking starts right away no load at all.
