Anyone know anything about flashing the bios for a Sapphire X700 Pro to XT? I attempted it and it ran fine for about 10 minutes before my computer crashed. I decieded to flash it back until I could gather some more info as a precaution to causing in damage.

I know this seems to be a rare and somewhat finicky card, my one regret about my system build :( , but any ideas or suggestions would be helpful.

So you flahed and it crashed...sounds like it can't handle the speeds. Did you overclock to the XT speeds first to see if it could handle them? It may just be the mem timings it can't handle, you might better to just overclocking it. And how are your temps?

^ that would be rare not to be able to handle those speeds [what brand are u using gimme linkage :)]

but still what are ur mak clocks with the pro bios?

try reinstalling ur drivers and a diferent bios :)

Its a Sapphire X800 PR0 256MB GDDR3 http://www.sapphiretech.com/awards/image/media_365.jpg
Original Clock speed 420mhz
Original Ram Speed 860 mhz

I was under the assumption that the Pro and XT had the same processor? Perhaps I am mistaken since I can not even overclock the processor to XT speeds (475Mhz) without it eventually crashing.

Perhaps I will try a different Bios as you suggest. Where would be a good place to get a better selection than this site?

And don't you have a X700...not X800? Must be a typo. :D But if your crashing from doing a overclock don't flash it.

Its 425.
Oops! It is a typo. I wish it were an X800. Maybe it was a subconscious manifestation.

Actually, I don't really see the point of flashing the card from Pro to XT since there is not much of a change except clockspeed difference. Just overclock it will do pal. :)
