Flashing Vega 56 to 64 Vega

Hey all,

So Im building a Gaming PC for my mate and I decided to go on youtube check benchmarks and came across this video on flashing the vega 56 bios to a 64 vega bios, anyway with the video I noticed he flashed his card in windows now I have never done any flashing via windows always done it through the main motherboard bios.

anyway heres the link im talking about

Im just wondering if its possible to flash the bios on a usb and flashing it through freedos I personally would feel better about doing it considering in the video the program actually locked up his computer.

I believe its possible to safely flash like you would a motherboard bios without windows being involved.

First off, why do you want to flash a Vega 56 to a 64? It usually won't unlock any CU's and there is almost no performance gain that can't be had from OCing/UVing and editing registry power limits (pretty easy to do, and won't brick your card if you fail)
Second, do you have the right BIOS for your GPU? A Sapphire Vega 64 BIOS will brick say, a MSI Vega 56 (unless theyre the exact same board, very unlikely so just ignore this)

just because I can really and I can save money instead of paying $600 I can spend $300 and get $600 performance.

and yes I have the right bios and yes I know it will brick the card using the different brands, its exactly like when your flashing phones same process.

Also you didnt answer my question can I flash the bios without being in windows?

It's not going to do anything, but a quick google search reveals that you should be able to in DOS.
$300 is too much to spend on a V56, unless say its a aftermarket version, even then thats used 1080 territory.
