If you wanna vmod hat, I STRONGLY recommend aftermarket cooling. Single slot coolers are borderline as it is on most cards today.
EDIT: Oh, and don't commit to the 8600. Shop in a price range instead, and pick the best card. Don't search based on model numbers.
