I'm really looking forward to this one.

General info:

Demo available now.
Your in colorado to race in the Horizon festival.
You'll drive all over to race and earn wrist bands to get into the top 10 to make the competition.

Features:
A recreated colorado to offer many different roads for driving and racing.
Over 280 miles of open road.
Forza physics model. (side note. collisions are bumper carish, but car feel is quite close to FM4)
Day/night cycle
Car upgrades (but no tuning)
You can street race other competitors randomly
Offroad and tarmac racing
150+ Cars (believe i read this somewhere)
Three music stations. electric, rock and remixed eclectic music
30 FPS

Online:
Free roam mode
Racing
Games like capture the flag, tag
Driving over a golf course (saw it in a review).

DLC:
Season pass $50
Yeah that sounds like a lot. And it might be as the following is known:
$20 - Rally DLC expansion (coming in dec)
$5 - first car pack. 6 cars.
There will be 5 more car packs with 6 cars. (that totals to $50 with the expansion)

Does anyone wish for a Gran Turismo or Forza on the PC?

There are some good sims, but they are all a far cry from either of these games.

I like them too, both have their strong and weak points, i just don't agree that GT5 or Forza are the industry standard.

So yeah with the physics, steering and such feels good. I was oversteering If i pushed too hard in a RWD car in the demo. However bumping into cars is close to unpunished. They kinda bounce off of you. Bit of a let down that it's not more realistic. But the upside is you can bash a PT cruiser or toyota prius into the wall with little repercussions on you.

The amount of cars in those games combined are nil when compared to GT5. I liked having to fit a car for specific races, it was a lot of fun. I dont just like racing supercars and such.

And don't try to tell me that GT5 and Forza aren't "real" sims, they are good enough simulation for me, and for the most part are very fun.

I still think Forza 4 is better, Forza Horizon to me is like NFS The Run.

It certainly combines aspects of arcade games like NFS, TDU, Burnout. But it has a much better driving model. Most NFS games, trying to use a wheel is just impossible. TDU also didnt quite have the driving model.

So yeah if you're pure sim it's not for you. But if you like to mix it up a bit with racing games, definitely give the demo a try. Try out the free roam and such.

Yeah like you said. I'm into the JDM(Honda, Acura, Toyota, and etc).

They way you said this: "There are some good sims, but they are all a far cry from either of these games." sounds like those two games are the best games out there and the other PC sims are inferior, at least that's what i understood. I'm not saying GT or Forza are bad and not sim enough (in fact i enjoy both of them), it's just that there several things about GT and Forza that could be better, and are better in other games, like the sounds in GT which are quite outdated.
The things that make GT5 & Forza 4 so great for you are not important for me, i value more other things like tire model accuracy, sounds, etc which are things that both GT and Forza are lacking at. You answered to this in your own post, you value more this i value more that, i still think neither GT or Forza are the industry standard.
