Fractal Design Core 2500 vs Define r6 airflow

I have a define r6 and i wouldn't mind more airflow to my asus rtx 2060 strix oc.

I get over 60c most of the time, luckily i can keep the fans from spinning unless i play games or it's really hot (silent freak) with a custom fan curve.

Not doing much i get 65c from my gpu, 3d setting is optimal power (not performance) i think it's called.

Fractal design core 2500 i have looked at since that model is cheap has a sidepanel i can use a low rpm fan blowing at my gpu.

But it still have kind of the same front fan intake in the sides as my define r6

I would buy a dustfilter for the sidepanel and some dampening foam to make it more silent

So how much difference would it make with a side fan ?

What i really would like is a case with a side panel for 1 fan (no window), atx mb support, removable hard drive bays, a 5.25" drive bay and front mesh for higher,more easy air intake for a low price.

Just can't find one unless im willing to pay a lot more

I would make three points

1) I would not put a fan on a side vent (just a mesh cover) and simply allow the two further fans on your RTX 2060 to pull in outside air as needed from that slot. The closer fan on the GTX 2060 will be pulling in outside air from the vented PCI slots.

2) You might see an improvement of 2-4c from the new case so probably not worth the extra cost of the case. Try playing around with your front lower fan, GamersNexus found on certain cases that a powerful front fan towards the GPU can fight the video card from pulling in outside air from vented pci slots.

3) 60-65c is flat out cool for a GPU.

you can tell how much difference it would make by taking the side panel off completely. Kind of sounds like it might be time for water.

Also having a hole in the side panel would increase noise.

The Define R6 USB-C Blackout weighs 12.4 kg. The Core 2500 weighs 5.7 kg! You must account for the dampening of the additional weight that the R6 has. I would expect the 2500 to amplify noise, whereas the R6 dampens it.

Well i already said i wanted to sound dampening the case, what makes the noise isn't the case but the hardware you/i use

Look at the idle temps and tell me that a side fan doesn't make sense

Pc mounted in the fractal design core 2300

Fractal Design Dynamic X2 GP14 White 140 mm in the side panel temps atm would be 65c in my old case, now it's just under 60 c and very little noise running at 30% or 350 rpm

your best answer is more fans or upgrade all the fans - ones designed for static pressure but run them at the lowest speed possible.... or a full water cooling setup. It takes longer for heat to completely saturate the loop and generally with enough airflow it can hold its temperature at a steady equilibrium

Unfortunately silent/quiet and performance PCs dont really go in the same sentence unless more money was thrown at it
