it'll be to raise a bit of profile in light of win 7's launch.
i think its finishes war eagle
I'm accepting donations. Just send whatever you can afford to my paypal account and I'll be sure he gets it. Hehehe.
Now that we have a year, we'll get 7 RTM right?
I actually think I'm gonna pay for this once my subscription runs out. I guess it did pay to get up @ 5AM this morning, like I do every morning.
I only wake up at 6:30
they might be afraid people aren't gonna buy windows 7 like how windows vista was a fail at launch, if a good amount of people already have it with keys then it can get some good opinions, and 7 is a really good OS
I run it on a pc with 512mb of ram and it runs better on 7 than it does on XP, its amazing
I think Win 7 is already getting some good rep from all of us running the Beta's and the wonderful RC.
Yes, you should be able to get the Windows 7 RTM when it is released to technet subscribers, usually right after or about the same time MSDN subs get it and usually before the general public.
Agreed. That is taking it too far, which is what too many people are doing. This is why the servers are getting killed and so many are getting errors. No need to be greedy people.
I've only gotten one Key.
If someone needs a Key for something send me a PM and I will be glad to get one for them.
How can you be deemed greedy when its free for anyone to get? Its not like hes taking keys away from others, because they just keep getting generated?
Its MS's fault anyway, I asked for a key for Office Ultimate and they gave me 7 - fuel to the fire perhaps?
I'm sure Microsoft saw some major spikes in traffic the last few days I don't really know the basis of microsoft doing a promo like this.. However its gonna do wonders for technet subscriptions This could be Microsoft trying to get Windows 7 out there more too.. "here IT guys, have windows 7! its awesome! tell your friends!
*friends buy windows 7*
Microsoft wins again!
It could also just be an "oops!" by PR guys that have no idea, as usual.
I doubt a majority of the keys being handed out via technet are even gonna get used much. Products like windows server datacenter aren't gonna be ninja'd by an enthusiast and severely hurt profits. They don't buy it anyways.
+1 I didnt even know this service exsisted untill today, If id only known before .
But its something i will be keeping. Big thanks to bogmali
Besides, for the corporate/enterprise products, MS makes more money on the support than on the products themselves.

I got that at first too. Use the link that was posted on this page, it works.
Eh, I think it's dead, I have already tried it on 12 different computers using every browser you can imagine and every link I can find.
still works for moi
I can sign in all I want it still asks for a benefit number.
Lol have they killed it everythings grey and unclickable ?
You got that when you registered.
it's the same as your subscripton number - you have to associate it with a Windows Live id
How do I get started accessing my Subscription?
To access your TechNet Plus Subscription benefits, you need to have a Passport/Windows Live ID (hereafter referred to as Live ID). If you don’t have one, sign up for one at https://login.live.com. The Live ID does not have to match the email that is in your Subscription details.
Go to the TechNet Subscriptions > Manage my Subscriptions page to associate your Windows Live ID with your TechNet subscription. You will be required to log into Windows Live ID if you are not logged in.
On the TechNet Registration Page fill in the text boxes with your Subscription details - First Name, Last Name, Email address, Benefit Access Number (may also be called Subscriber ID or Partner Technical Contact ID or Subscription ID). Accept the license terms and click the OK button.
Make sure you enter the Subscription details EXACTLY as they were provided to you. If you receive an error, verify what you entered. Try reversing the first and last name fields if you are still unsuccessful.
Upon successful registration, you will see a listing of the benefits you are entitled to. Registration is generally a onetime process. In the future you will simply sign in with your Live ID to access your Subscription benefits.
Yeah unfortunately it looks like they have Nightmare!
