He did, but he also tried to extend his date using this free promo- his account didn't get affected, so microsoft appears to have properly been able to handle the damage control

well, i got a lot of keys.

As has been said above tho, i wont be selling or giving them out, i'll be using them for personal use. I've had 8 PC's at the one time before, so 8 OS keys works for me.

A paid subscription costs $512 Au. Vista ultimate and office ultimate, cost $700 au.

Buying technet plus and downloading the OS, is cheaper than buying ONE ultimate product retail!

Well, once 7 goes RTM, I may very well just go ahead and buy Technet Plus, even if I have to pay the full $350, as I have at least 7 computers I can throw it on. It would be hella cheaper that way.

Alas, getting pruned makes me sad. Was really hoping it would still be good at Win7 RTM time. I grabbed around 10 keys last night, only of stuff I knew I could put to use, or really wanted to experiment with. Good thing I saw fit to copy and paste them to txt files, as I had the nagging suspicion that it was gonna be too good to be true.

Just a quick question for anyone - Ive downloaded a few OS's from technet, now the ISO files have weird names - for example: en_windows_vista_x64_dvd_X12-40712.

Now my question is, if I rename it to say "Windows Vista x64" it wont screw the disc up will it? Ive always been reluctant to rename ISO files.

It shouldn't cause any issues, it's still the same ISO.
