Is there any good DVD making software out there. I have a 700mb AVI file that I would like to put on DVD but with better visual quality. I tried Nero's but in dark areas it is really blocky and quick sudden movements tear.

The video can be only as good as the source video. In other words, don't expect a high quality video

You could look into DVDRebuilder and add some AviSynth filters (for deblocking , ringing removal, upsampling , noise removal and deinterlacing). AviSynth can do near-mystical things with poor video material, but it has a rather steep learning curve.

I use this with GREAT results.:D
