fresh windows install now gpu memory issue?

trying to play bf3 which is loaded on my ssd as soon as the game launches i get a direct x memory error. this is a new error since my new ssd, im running my cat drivers off of a different drive then my system install is that an issue at all?

ya they installed with the game i did the dxdiag tool and it says dx 11 is installed

you can install games on another drive (not c: or whatever system drive) but installing drivers (that belong partly into the ...\windows folder... ???!!! Never heard of that...

of course DX is fine, because it installs into default location, but your Ati 4800 drivers ...

doing a fresh driver install see if it fixes it

same error, it didnt help at all..how ever disable crossfire and it runs fine, enable cross fire and crashes..

after doing a lot of google searches i found that the virtual memory can be managed by increasing or decreasing "file paging" under your advanced system settings, when installing an ssd my windows 7 reduced the file paging size down to 400mb which is not enough for BF3 to run...this is a huge issue among bf3 communities hopefully this helps..

I started a thread for my SSD install a couple of months ago (link below)

I went a different way on the install by prepping everything on a HDD and then copying it to the SSD but some of the tips provided by other forum members may assist you with some of the issues you are having;)
