FSP Hydro G PRO 850 W

The FSP Hydro G Pro 850 W is of terrific build quality and uses a modern platform, but something in its final recipe didn't turn out as planned. Overall performance isn't as good as with the competition, and the HG2-850 costs more than the popular Corsair RM850x or Seasonic Focus Plus Gold of similar capacity.

Damn... Whoever built these PSUs need to get fired. This is really below FSP standards. At least the build quality is good and you get a 10year warranty but then you get slapped by the price tag. I think i'll settle for a corsair RM unit instead or an Seasonic one

Thats actually one PSU that's not overpriced here in Gougeland (New Zealand) $149USD > $189NZD where I was expecting upwards of $250+

i would be curious to see if another unit performed exactly the same. might be worth reaching out to fsp to see if they will let you sample another unit. it seems odd that this one did really poor given the fact it was built with half decent components.

Agree, they went lit too much in our office PC's... Despite really high quality components and decent PCB albeit it seems fragile, as the one that did soldering plucked out a through hole via for the main cap as seen in the pic... :roll:

I like the epoxy resin coating on certain spots thou.

The platform simply sucks.

I've seen them in controller boards for appliances, they suck there too. FSP is like Greatwall, ATNG, Sirtec, Sirfa- all worthless crap.
