I'm trying to build a full spider computer for a friend for less than $1400. Here is the current list of parts:
Vista Ultimate 64-bit- $190
Phenom X4 9850- $240
Hitachi Deskstar T7K500 500 gb- $90
ASUS M3A32-MVP Deluxe- $190
Linksys 802.11n wireless card- $70
4x Sapphire 3850- $500
OCZ GameXStream 700watt- $125- $35 rebate
Mushkin 2gb DDR 800- $43
Xigmatek Contact Cooler W/ Fan- $40
Samsung 20 DVD-RW- $27
Cooler Master Cosmos 1000- $210 (only because it has carrying handles)
The problem is that he's already $300 over budget! Whatever happens, he would like to keep the full phenom core system (4x 3850, 9850). Also, his other requirement is that the case has carrying handle(s) so that it is easier to take to lan parties. What can I safely get rid of? Wifi is recommended.
I also have to convince him that he cannot get a $200 monitor as well and still stay at $1400.
Thanks.
