FX-6300 OCed to 5 GHz

Tried my luck at overclocking an FX-6300 to 5 GHz. Moved the Sycthe tower cooler from my main PC to the FX-6300. Main PC got a new Hyper 212 Black Edition installed. Reused my Ballistix Tactical DDR3-1866MHz 16GB kit.

well done bro, thats well mighty for a 6300. im a fan of the FXs i own a few myself. ill have to see what i can get out of my 6300 never overclock one before the 8350 got the attention the most with me.

I was able to push 4.9 GHz from mine back in the day. Actually it was getting better and better each year, because games started supporting more than 2 cores

Weird how CPU-Z silti says six cores when almost anything these days reports six as only the amount of threads.

Well it can hit 5 GHz but Linpack forced me to step back down to 4.8 GHz.

Well done. I got 5.05GHz out of my former 8150 several years ago right before I switched everything to Intel platforms.
