G.SKILL International Enterprise Co., Ltd., the world's leading manufacturer of extreme performance memory and gaming peripherals, is announcing two new DDR4 memory series, the Flare X series and FORTIS series, designed and tested specifically for the new AMD Ryzen processor platform. With a brand new architecture, processor, and chipset from AMD, high performance overclocking memory kits must be validated for optimized compatibility and stability for the new hardware.

Designed for the latest AMD Ryzen processor, the Flare X series DDR4 memory kit marks the return of the legendary G.SKILL Flare series that provided awesome performance in the previous generation of DDR3 memory. Built with carefully selected IC chips specifically tested and validated on the AM4 platform, the Flare X series will provide the best compatibility and stability for systems with the AMD Ryzen CPU.

FORTIS for Gaming
Designed for the best quality, reliability, and compatibility, the G.SKILL FORTIS series is the most ideal and cost effective DDR4 solution for building a performance AM4 gaming system.

AMD-Tuned DDR4-3200MHz CL14 64GB(4x16GB)
Not needing to sacrifice frequency for capacity, G.SKILL's R&D team achieved an impressive overclock on a 64GB (4x16GB) kit to frequencies of DDR4-3200MHz at ultra-low timings of CL14-14-14-34. See below for a validation screenshot for the kit on the ASUS ROG Crosshair VI Hero motherboard and the AMD Ryzen 7 1700 processor:

AMD-Tuned DDR4-3466MHz CL16 16GB(2x8GB)
Further pushing the boundaries of 16GB (2x8GB) memory kits on the AM4 platform, G.SKILL tuned it to a blistering fast DDR4-3466MHz CL 16-16-16-36. Tested on the 8-core AMD Ryzen 7 1700 processor and ASUS ROG Crosshair VI Hero motherboard, this is the fastest G.SKILL memory kit that's been designed for AMD thus far. See below for the validation screenshot:

DDR4 Specifications & Availability
The Flare X and FORTIS series will both be available in DDR4-2133MHz and DDR4-2400MHz upon release under various capacity configurations, ranging from 16GB to 64GB. Flare X series will be available in higher memory frequency speeds of DDR4-3200MHz and DDR4-3466MHz. Both Flare X and FORTIS series will be available via G.SKILL worldwide distribution partners in March 2017. Please see the table below for more details.

It would have been nice if this ram had been available at Ryzen launch, so we could have seen bench scores with decent ram speeds. Ryzen would have surely looked even more impressive with validated and tuned memory from day dot.

Should have had them in the market prior or with ryzen's Release
so people could have ordered as they ordered their CPU and Motherboard

How is it bad timing? This memory has been available on newegg since a few days ago.

Available to order before the Ryzen chips were shipping.

The reason we may not have found these kits was because they are in lower capacities than was listed in this news piece. Newegg shows 4gb and 8gb x 2 kits. Capacity wise I opted for a 2 x 16gb Ripjaws V kit @ 2400 last week because of this.

You know, that are just Aegis and Ripjaws validated on AM4 board and rebranded :)

These are not AMD-optimised DDR.

Well Ryzen seems to have an issue with the memory controller accessing dual ranked RAM at higher speeds. So there may be more to this than a simple re-brand. We could also see the return of the AMP profile system that AMD kinda abandoned a while back. But it doesn't matter because the real gain is the ability to say "You said this would work on AMD at this speed". So this will help with warranty and RMA issues that could arise since G.Skill is basically saying we will back our stuff even on AMD.

It's more than likely a non-issue. The RAM in the Review Kit pretty much every reviewer used was optimized for Intel, RAM sticks like in this article likely fix that.

It's also good to note that Ryzen does support ECC, so you can get very cheap server RAM if you want.

They ARE aegis and ripjaw(4) heatspreaders at least, and look a bit lame imo..

Good that there are decent speed cl14 modules already though, i just want to see some 'rebranded' TridentZ's

how do we find out if they're single or dual bank?
rank. Usually if they are single ranked they will only have memory chips on 1 side. It is actually difficult to find as most kits are dual ranked. All of the 16 GB sticks are dual ranked so that brings the limit to 8 GB with a max of 32 GB using 4 of them if you want the higher clock speeds.....for now.

It's good to see they are catering to the DDR4 standard that AMD use as well as the separate DDR4 standard Intel use, was worried they might just try and make money off peoples confusion or something :p

I only just noticed this.. does this mean what i'd like it to mean, or that they actually managed this with a golden kit but are happy to hype it as 'achievable'?
I mean i own its competitor and i can't run my RAM that high.. this is very impressive, more considering some initial Asus statements about 2400ish MHz. Again, assuming this means what i think it means?

Depending on how Ripjaws look compared to these sexy little beasts., they will be part of my next build in a couple months. Can't wait.

But a quick question, 16x x 2 = 32GB or 16 x 4 = 64GB ? For Dual Channel Setup. I know the 64GB is going to cost an arm and a leg. Which setup do you guys prefer. I believe 32GB is more than enough. And leaves an extra 32GB addition for future expansion. Just asking.

i've heard of that, but even the side is not a guarantee (how do you even see the sides if there's a heatspreader?)

i would only look for 2x8gb so it shouldnt be too much problem at least
