i read some where that over at XS someone modded a GA-P67A-UD7 to run with GA-Z68X-UD7 bios, anyone can confirm that? i mean since the boards r almost identical it should be possible or am i wrong?

GA-P67A-UD7:

Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD7 (Gigabyte.com)

GA-Z68X-UD7:

Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD7 (Gigabyte.com)

i have also seen Stasio here @ TPU under his system specs having this board with Z68X bios on if i don't remember wrong, so still wondering if it's possible.

Yes, possible, due to the Z68-UD7 not having any display outputs. Just make sure that you have similar USB, Audio, Super I/o VRM controller and such, and you should be fine.

I dunno what it would offer ya though, if all those things are the same, chances are they use very much the same BIOS anyway.

It might be possible!!!!, but the chips are physically different one is P67 Chipset and the other is Z68 Chipset, the Z68 is like what the P67 should have been, so I'm saying P67 cant have the full functionality of the Z68 but the Z68 can have the full functionality of P67.

So i dint know why would someone want to damn down Z68 to a P67.

And if its true that it can be done then even Intel Desktop Boards DP67BG & DZ68ZV Bios should be compatible check this out

Thought this too, As I understand it the only difference between P67 and Z68 is SRT and Lucid Virtu, it doesn't offer any better overclocking/performance afaik and as they are both UD7, they will be nearly identical except for the aforementioned differences in chipset.

Physical deference in the chips are that Z68 has Display output control from the Z68 Chip and the Intel Smart Response which is optional.
