Galactic Civilizations 3 Announced!!!

GalCiv, 4X, or Space Strategy fans, Rejoice!!! I literally shouted YES when I saw it. I don't usually do that. even on the GTA V or Skyrim announcement I didn't

"Two decades have passed since Stardock released its first game, Galactic Civilizations, and on the eve of the company’s 20th birthday, it’s unwrapping Galactic Civilizations III, a sequel to the game that put the studio on the map. Seven years after Galactic Civilizations 2, the follow-up is promising massive scale, moddability, and a redesigned ship builder alongside its trademark political intrigue. Joining Watch Dogs, it’ll also only run on 64-bit operating systems.

Stardock won’t say when Galactic Civilizations III will be released. However, you can buy your way into the eventual beta through the $40 Founder’s Edition, or enter the alpha with the $100 Founder’s Elite Edition, which also includes all future DLC, a credit in the game, and the right to name a star."

Eh, I'll check it out, have the first two, but I'm disappointed in Stardock falling off their "Contract to Gamers" wagon. They tried a bit to recover with Fallen Enchantress, but..... Meh. thanks for the heads up tho.

I have the second game, never tried it.

It's a good game, it's just a bit hard to get into.

Yeah, the second game is pretty much still playable up to now, wouldn't feel that old game feeling like when you play a typical game from 2006. Still beats every 4X game made today except for Civ V.

I can't wait, Galactic Civ 2 is my favorite turn based strategy game ever made. The game's depth, size and customization options make most Sid Meier games seem more like checkers than chess.

Sod it, I don't have an optical drive, so I just bought number 2 at Steam. No release date revealed for this yet.

I'd recommend you start out on Easy or maybe even Simple difficulty, and there's around half a billion of them, so keep clicking until you find it.

Tell me again why Maxis/EA are considered particulary evil.

The stardock thing is obsolete now I think. I thought that after sins of a solar empire they binned their distribution thing and do everything through steam now. At least that's what I thought.

The stardock account isn't mandatory, I think I had the option of activating the game without registering, but I registered anyway

The game didn't start unless I activated it with the Stardock account.

Anyway been playing a bit, lots to take in but I think I'll like it... When I get past the terrible choice of font. Seriously, been playing for like an hour an my eyes are hurting.

So if some one disliked Civ games you would not recommend this game ?.. Reason i disliked the Civ games were due to none realistic for example A archer taking out a tank.

Their not the only ones that do it. You got UBI too.. Just hope when SD looses connection you able to save still lol.

Well it could happen irl, if the archer got up real close and if the hatch was open and the archer could just stab the people inside with arrows.

So far it's not much like Civ. 4x sure but that's broad term.
