hi guys thinking about flashing the Galax bios on to my iCHILL do you think this is a good idea or is it incompatible ??

i did already flash a bios on to my card..
this was the original bios:
https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/208237/inno3d-rtx2080ti-11264-181203

current bios:
https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/204557/kfa2-rtx2080ti-11264-180910

this is the bios i want to flash:
https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/204869/galax-rtx2080ti-11264-180927
or this one:
https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/205495/msi-rtx2080ti-11264-180930

would this work? or are the cards too different?? are the other ways to increase the power target / limit ?

ah i just saw both card have 3 power connectors so i guess i am already at max

You have a 2080ti, which is a very good card. Why on this earth would you risk bricking it for the chance of an extra 2fps?

If this is your technical knowledge, I would not even bother flashing a BIOS for a higher power limit. Be happy with your purchase and move on. You won't get much more from a flash, if anything, you're likely to come up against hardware limits.

ok checked the power consumption for all cards and its the same no matter how man connectors the card has so this power is not a prob..
well i want to unlock the true potential of the card. even under full load i am far under the thermal limit. and i rather have full control than the fabricated limits of the current gen cards..
did no one have experience with the galax bios??

Don't brick your card. If you want to get rid of more than $1200 give it to someone that needs a new card.

Well I did it already a couple of times so. And Even if it’s a bad flash. Doesn’t mean the card is bricked, just a blind flash to go to go back to normal. Sry but there where not much advices from you guys.. so instead of arguing about this matter with actual no knowledge just leave it be and let people answer which have something to say.

Well I actually wanted to get some feedback about this topic but you guys just tell me to let it be. But as I already wrote I did it acouple of times... and you guy talk to me like I don’t know what I am doing but non of you could add anything substantial. It’s fine if you don’t know, just stop arguing...

We're supposed to give good advice, not advice that's potentially harmful, that's why we said leave well enough alone.

Doesn't matter if you've done it before, bad advice is bad advice and none of that was given nor can you or anyone else "Know" in advance how your card will take the flash, good or bad..... And there is no guarantee it won't be bricked afterwards either, happens to the best of us that's done it multiple times over and that's why we say your best bet is just to leave it as is.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Well if you thing.. but what you don’t get is. This thread was not about the question if it’s a good or bad idea it’s about input in this particular case...

You asked for input - You got it and sorry if it's not what you want to hear.

No one of any reputable status here or anywhere else is going to say "Just do it" and ignore the potential pitfalls of it. If you're looking to do an extreme BIOS mod via flashing the card HWbot would be the place to go and ask. Forums - HWBOT Community Forums
Just don't go blaming anyone of them if it goes to hell in the process because it certainly could.

I'm a member there myself so extreme OC'ing (Subzero) is what I do and I do understand because I've actually done it but again, it's about not giving any harmful advice here, to do such goes against the basic forum guidelines here anyway that I've ever known.

What exactly are you trying to achieve from flashing a different bios?
