Galaxy Microsystems, a leading manufacturer of NVIDIA based graphics cards, announced today the GeForce GTX 660 GC 2GB. Built around NVIDIA’s new high performance GTX 660 GPU, The Galaxy GTX 660 GC 2GB offers mainstream PC gamers access to the latest advances in GPU technology and unheard of levels of graphics power without breaking the bank. The improved power handling and ultra-efficient cooling of Galaxy’s custom design deliver enhanced overclock potential and energy efficiency. The end result is better performance, low power requirements, and a fantastic overall value. Similar to the Ti version, the foundation of the GTX 660 GC is a Galaxy custom PCB with significant design improvements, including an improved layout for more efficient signal path, high quality shielded inductors to maintain cleaner signal and eliminate coil whine, and thru-board ventilation to help keep power regulating components cool. The Galaxy Force Air bracket has been included as well to further facilitate the removal of heat from the system. As is the tradition with Galaxy GC Edition graphics cards, the GTX 660 GC is equipped with a unique custom cooling solution. The cooler is designed with a highly effective dual fan system with aerodynamically and acoustically optimized blades that keep fan noise to an absolute minimum even at high speeds. Beneath the fans, a high surface area aluminum heat sink with triple heat pipes maintains very cool GPU temps even under extended run times with heavy workload. The GTX 660 GC 2GB includes full support for GPU Boost, Adaptive Vsync, PhysX, 3D Vision, and Surround. Gamers will be able to connect up to 3 displays for Surround gaming along with a 4th display for the Windows desktop. Available ports include DisplayPort, DVI, and HDMI outputs, and an adapter is supplied for analog VGA displays. The Galaxy GTX 660 GC 2GB is available now at leading retailers and etailers:Amazon, Best Buy, Fry’s, NCIX, Newegg, and TigerDirect.
