Honestly I think Leaving Earth was also really good. It's got some inception noises though.
I don't think it would be out of place in a movie.

Thank you for reminding :toast: indeed there is a indescribable power in a beautiful soundtrack .

Those invasion noises are exactly why I left it out. If you haven't played the game, it doesn't make much sense.

If you haven't noticed, I try to keep it to one or two tracks per game so I opted for the tracks that would be more universally recognized as good...no context required.

Here's my favorite from Botanicula (no idea what language that is):

Favorite song from Cave Story+. This is another of those that made me stop and take note in the middle of playing the game:

Most of the Reus songs have the same overtones so it is difficult to pick a favorite. They also take a minute to really "start" but I find it is worth the wait. It really comes down to Slow Rise or Prosperity Theme. I have to go with the latter simply because it is more upbeat:

Rocketbirds have a lot of awesome songs by New World Revolution. Here's my favorite:

I'm going to end on the best song of this set--a true diamond in the rough from Snapshot:

still with FFXIV because nearly no other MMO reach the awesomeness of his music, some solo play games does :D but that one ... oh ... god..

and that in all kind of music genre...

The 14.9GiB 3000-track collection (available as a torrent) is what I'm usually listening to while I program. Most are instrumental and very energetic, making it great for work. The also have a number of remixed albums such as Chrono Symphonic and Wild Arms - ARMed and DANGerous which I like quite a bit.

A little history of OC Remix done by the Extra Credits channel.

I've collected a large number of Final Fantasy Albums over the years and one of my favorites that I find myself playing over and over is Final Fantasy IV Celtic Moon.

Big fan of the Sixto Sounds work on OCRemix, particularly the Mega Man 9 - Back in Blue album.

Also for those into that sort of thing, I can highly recommend Hello World (track called Honey Bee), Adhesive Wombat, Dubmood and Kraedt (track called Isometric). Chiptune scene is getting bizarrely more popular to the general public.

surprised about that one ... but i STILL LOVE IT ... it has a weird vibe but kinda sink into the mind with ease, let's say ... i feel shiver down my spine when i hear it ... strange? it does not seems to be adapted for a MMO yet it works perfectly ...

technically the 1st song that made me fall in love with FFXIV OST was Titan Phase 5
i laughed so much the 1st time i got bumped down the pillar just at the moment you hear the "TITAAAAAAAAANNN" in the song ...

also another of my favorites ...Fractal Continuum... so awesome and addictive

These songs always create flashbacks of amazing moments I've spent in Need for Speed games. It brings the best moments of my childhood back to life like they were experienced yesterday. These are the good old epic times when there were dedicated people who made music specifically for a given game. These days they just pick "trax" from popular musicians and stick them into games. Sure some are good and fit into the game like music in original NFS Most Wanted, but it still doesn't have the same charm as these.

If you want to experience all the glorious Need for Speed music, visit this Youtube channel:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCn5e-pYdbWdDVKLbgyfsCmA

The guy archived all the soundtracks.

The guy archived all the soundtracks.
