I've done some hefty gaming sessions with loads of diet mountain dew and have gotten a real doozy of a headache the next day.

My guess is the person who died would have died anyway ,since staying awake for a day or so isnt going to kill you unless you're suffering from an underlying condition, or if drugs or some other substance was involved .I have 20 + years experience with prolonged lack of sleep and extreme high stress situations , frankly you might be surprised what a healthy human body can withstand. Of the many things that can kill a person who is healthy using the computer isn't one of them even for multiple days in a sitting.(special cases aside, i.e. licking fingers and poking them in the PSU)

My personal record is seven days without sleep, 12 without food. I've never tried it with water because I happen to know for a fact that's one of the few things you need regularly

You beat me then! Although in my defence I was covering around 30 miles a day on foot with around 110Lbs hanging off my back and around 10Lbs of metal in my hands

there was a famous comedian over here who died a few years ago in his late seventies, for more than 30 years he would only sleep for 2 hours a day, now that's really frightening

Doing some rough math makes it so that comedian got about 7.5 years more time being awake over the course of 30 years.

Very perceptive as that was the very reason he stated for doing it, he wanted to make the most of his time and saw sleep as a waste..... for me sleep is an absolute pleasure!

I remember playing MMORPG Runescape for 4 days straight without sleep 6 years ago. I think tea was the only thing keeping me alive, that and the promise of getting tons of XP on a weekend. I hated it when subscriptions would count down even if you don't log in. I thought not playing was an XP waste.

And now what I got to show for all that effort... crippling depression and insomnia from those days until now. Good times.

I also used to binge on Diablo II and Skyrim 12-16h a day. I think I'm gonna develop hemorrhoids in my ass from all that sitting.

Oh right my eyesight. Let's just say I can't distinguish features on people's faces 15 feet away. If I ever get old, I'm gonna have a very bad time.

Damnit, shouldn't have played Morrowind when I was a kid. Maybe then I wouldn't be in such a sorry state, that game hooked me on to PC gaming for life.

*Gasp* What if I never get to play Half-Life 3... Haha, worth it. Maybe.

At the time I wished I was moving, unfortunately The situation called for something else.the heavy backpack was the way to go when you wanted to burn calories ,that's how we used to get into shape
I never could get used to hi temps though. Guess I just wasn't cut out for it
