So I recently bought a gaming pc. The specs are good i can get 240 fps on fortnite but sometimes it drops and it does get freezes but apart from freezing when i play on 240 hz acer predator my game feels sluggish like 40 fps with some motion blur. I have tried everything from swapping gpu, swapping to corsair psu but it did not fix it so i swapped it back, overclocking cpu. I honestly have given up. My old pc was a i5 and some 2010 gpu but on creative all low res i could get 144 fps back then and on 144 hz it was smooth, so now i upgraded my pc but it is so bad. I tested my old pc again but not its laggy, like my new pc, in my old house my old pc was smooth when fps was high. It is not because it has been OC, even before overclocking it was sluggihs but when i stream it gets more laggy but my stream is smooth to people watching.

Intel i9900KS 8 cores, 16 threads. 4.00 Ghz base clock. OC-5ghz

is your ram running at the correct speeds in the bios?

Secondly are your games on an SSD or hard drive? sometimes it can be a bit laggy due to having to load a tonne of data.

My passing thoughts would also be to get a proper power supply. Not something really cheap. Not when youre building a gaming PC and overclocking. You need something thats reliable that can be trusted.

JUst because its called 'Voltron Platinum' doesnt mean its platinum rated.

£50 850w power supplies are always a bad idea.

Another thought: Did you install the actual chipset drivers from the motherboard vendor (MSI)? Not installing those can lead to extremely similar slow and sluggish behavior.

How about GPU driver? I would install this again, to be sure.

you are running very nice specs, but imo ditch that PSU and buy a good one.

As an idea how bad it is-

At least they named it fittingly. Dear lawd. You KNOW it's bad when they couldn't even be bothered to put SOMETHING around those fugly cables. Jesus.
