Hi community!
Wattuuup yall! (im just in a good mood lol)
So I got my new toy in the mail:
A late production T61 with maxed out specs for a 32bit OS.

Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 2.5GHz 6MB L2 800FSB
nVidia Quadro NVS 140m [128MB DEDICATED] + [1279MB SHARED]
GPU SPECS: Core=400MHz Memory=600MHz SharedClock=800MHz
Performance is Equilevant to a 8400M-GS

4GB DDR2 Dual Channel 667MHz
320GB 5400rpm
Win 7 Home Premium 32bit

This will be my light gaming unit. @ 8400MGS
Here are the games that I hope to play on it.
(I would be completely fine with lowest resolution and detail settings)

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 [UPDATE - RUNS ON ALL LOWEST @ ~45FPS]
Call of Duty: World at War
Call of Duty: Black Ops
Silent Hill: Downpour
Resident Evil 5 [UPDATE - RUNS ON ALL LOWEST @ ~ 45FPS]
Call of Duty 2 [UPDATE - RUNS ON MAX RES @ ~ 60FPS]
GTA San Andreas [UPDATE - RUNS ON MAX RES @ ~ 60FPS]
GTA 4
Silent Hunter 4

The rest of the games wont be installed till maybee Thursday.
So what do you guys think?
Will they run on this machine?
I can overlclock the GPU up to %20 if needed (abose FPS are mesured @ stock clock)
There wont be any thermal problems! (maxes out at 71* after overclocking %20)

Older games fine but most settings on low. I have a T60 with X1400M and it will play older games decent.

I have a laptop with a 8400m gs and it can run half life 2 ok. TF2 is a bit laggy unless the settings are turned down.

nVidia Quadro NVS 140m is based on the GeForce 8500M GT, so i guess maybe low settings.
GTA 4 will struggle for sure.

my old laptop:

14.1"
Intel T2300 1.66Ghz
256mb X1600Mobility Radeon (512mb hypermemory)
2GB DDR2 677
7200rpm WD Caviar Black

was just totally awesome at games - even ran Obilvion on almost high settings. runs League Of Legends maxed out.

I ran Metro2033, guild wars CoD1,2,4 & WaW, BF2, Killing floor and TF2 on it as well as most of the Unreal Tournament titles and it always made a meal of it.

Really proud of that laptop but the bastard was f**king heavy motherf**ker and I was like, "I love yer but i cant carry yu no moar!!"

Sadly its no longer in my possession as i retired it and sold it off to a friend who wanted it so his parents could use it for mundane shit like youtube and facebook.

I almost cried, its been such a strong gaming warhorse for so many years and I put it in a 'home' for old people. :shadedshu:shadedshu

Benchmark Scores Suggestions.
Have an Acer Aspire 15.4 with T7200 and a x1400 that I now use for a multimedia laptop and it was running Oblivion fine on its resolution. Mind you I had to play on a low settings but it ran fine. Also the last game I tested in the laptop was CnC Tiberium wars and it ran fine on low/medium gfx as well.

I think you will be fine with games from 1+ year ago that are not that heavy gfx intensive. Though thisnis a quadroon card so not sure if it will be able to run games like a geforce card would.

Be careful gaming on an 8400m gs as they have a tendency to fail if they run hot... do a search for "8400m gs failure" and you will find lots of info on it.

... I know from experience and I wasn't even gaming that much (8400m gs failed in my Dell XPS M1530):shadedshu

My T61 is a late production unit (August 2008) that has a fixed nVidia Chip. (Better Munp MAterial)
I enabled multi core in REsident Evil and the frames are now +60 even on medium detail! :D
Also the Penryl runs cooler than the old T7300 Merom! (or whatever its called)

The Sims 3 will run on pretty much anything so long as you don't have too many mods/expansions installed.

Haha tell me about it! I bought the laptop as a spares/repairs with the graphics chip fault and managed to fix it with a heat gun. I rarely use the laptop for gaming as I have my main PC for that.
